After realizing that I wasnt going to get anywhere in Reed City I joined the Air Force in May of 1993, graduating from Basic Training in August of the same year.
I got my first assignment in Texas at Dyess AFB as a crew chief on C-130 aircrart. This is also where I met my wife. After doing a stint in Saudi, We got orders to go to Germany (Ramstein AB) in the fall of 1994 where we spent the next 4 years. That was the best time ever.
My next and sadly my last assignment came in the fall of 1998 which took us to Andrews AFB, MD, which was ok. The best part of that was I got to take a look at Air Force 1. I separated from the AF in Januarary 2001 and moved the family to East Peoria, where we spent the next three years. I worked at the local airport refueling aircraft and my wife worked at Lowes.
After about 3 yrs there my wife decided to open her mouth and say that if Lowes ever opened a store in Big Rapids, MI, then we would go there. Well suprise, here we are.
We spent 4 years in the Big Rapids/Reed City area. Gail worked as the Operations Manager in the Big Rapids store. I worked at Eagle Village as a Youth Counselor. Well lets add yet another page to the the story.
Gail got accepted to the SMTP last summer. She graduated in October (?) and accepted the Store Manager position in Gaylor, Michigan shortley after.
