In the past, the Captaincy was auctioned, to raise money for the Crown. As we cannot ensurethat
each Crown will be enthusiastic to supply a Letter of Marque, we
have decided to concentrate on other fundraising, such as the First
Mate's Tourney and Kill the Pirates Archery competitions. The
Gardian has been fortunate to have some very enthusiastic Captains so
far. I hope to keep that enthusiasm ongoing!
