non-med students - just don't do it!!!
Buy books SPARINGLY -- all you
really need is the class notes and Review Books
How many opportunties (e.g.
shadowing experiences) are available if we just ask!
Be open to change. Say yes to
opportunities. Treat youself well. Take notes.
Be ready for bad weather... really bad
weather.
Things are going to be just fine.
If you are considering buying, wait
until next spring. More available and you’ll know area preferences.
If you have any kind of personal
issues... straighten them out now.
Take advantage of the pass/fail
system!!!

"required books"- they go out of date so fast anyways

system
You still have time to do other
things, and you will learn more by staying involved.
If you commute: get a car and a
parking spot from day 1!!!
Hyde Park is pretty isolated within
Chicago, so learn how to use public transportation to downtown
Remember to take time for yourself. Med school can be very overwhelming. Take care of you first!
