How to Use this Book
This book is a small introduction to your new life at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, the neighborhood of Hyde Park, and the City of Chicago as a whole. Here are some tips to help you maximize its efficacy:
- Realize that this book is only a starting place for you as you become familiar with your surroundings. The University and the great city around it have much more to offer than we could contain on these few pages.
The pages are color-coded by section to make quick reference easier:

A detailed Table of Contents can be found on the first page, but a handy quick reference guide that lists major subjects in alphabetical order sits exposed and ready for use on the back cover.
Contact numbers are listed conveniently (or at least we hope so) at the beginning of each entry. For really important numbers, use the alphabetical quick reference list on the last page. (By "really important" we mean things like the Office of Medical Education, not Girlbar.)
