kalkee

India is poor by design. Inspite of having the best in natural and human resources, the nation is unable to live up to the minimum expectations of its citizens. Why is this ?
An evil and all powerful coterie has grabbed power. Political activists (we would hate to call them leaders) are looting the country with the active connivance of bureaucrats. All institutions have been taken over by these criminals
In this gathering gloom, when there is none to hold a light, it is time for the citizen to set his own heart alight and become a beacon of hope for the country.

The collective psyche of the HINDU nation, remembers a sequence of unique and momentous events in the history of mankind. Whenever it has so happened that the powers of evil have become so strong as to make life extremely difficult for the good and the virtuous, an individual of outstanding ability and integrity has appeared to set things right.

yada yada hi dharmasya glaneer bhabhati bharata

abhyuthanam adharmasya, tadatmanang srijamyaham

paritranaya sadhunang, vinayashaya cha dushkritam

dharmasangsthapanarthya sambhavami yugey yugey

Each such appearance is referred to as an avatar or incarnation and Hindu memory records the existence of nine such. in the allegorical language of folklore they are

1 Matsya : the fish 6 Parashuram
2 Kurma : the tortoise 7 Rama
3 Varaha : the boar 8 Krishna
4 Narasimha : the man-lion 9 Buddha
5 Vamana : the dwarf 10 Kalkee : foretold and awaited

Some people find in this sequence an echo of Darwin's theory of evolution and see a glimpse of the ascent of man.

A parallel myth very much current in the INDIAN state is democracy. While we go about beating our breasts as being the largest democracy, the fact remains that our elections are a farce.

Significant parts of the electorate have simply no idea about what constitutes good government and vote on the basis of caste and relegion. others who have the capacity to think are forced to fall in line with money or muscle power.

That elections are still held and governments do change is because of the balance of terror and evil. one piece of evil is replaced by another, possibly bigger, evil.

And we believe that we are a democratic nation.

The image of as a sword wielding warrior astride a celestial white horse may have been appropriate at another time and age, but we, at the end of the twentieth century must look for other metaphors.

today will manifest itself as a tidal wave of public opinion with which we must breach the ramparts of corruption.

Unfortunately, the silent majority of suffering citizens have neither the time to organise themselves -- they have to earn a living -- nor any access to the media to air their views. This is where the 20th century technology of the Internet can play a very significant role.

By spawning a virtual organisation, can elevate himself beyond the limitations of time and space and become an unstoppable force which can reach into each and ever corner of national life. The pen -- and now the Internet -- is mightier than the sword. Relentless exposure is still the best way to confront the arrogant. This is being attempted for the first time by the office of the for the time under the inspiration of Mr N Vittal.

That shall be the first step that will take. You become a part of simply by subscribing to this belief. Welcome Aboard.

A word about intellectual property rights -- kalkee (or kalki) is a perennial concept from the annals of Hindu philosophy and it would be inappropriate to create a copyright on it, though we are sure that someone would buy up the name kalki.com. However, it is our humble request that the logo be treated as a copyleft of this web site. The concept of copyleft is widely used in the world of shareware software. You are free to use it in any non-commercial but otherwise 'appropriate' context. An acknowledgement of its origin would be appreciated.
