0 GOD, who makest dawn to rise upon the mist and spreadest light in all the world may we follow where Thy brightness beckons.

As of old Thou didst steady the eye and temper the sinew of those who sought fresh life upon the wooded land, keep now a like daring, ar equal courage in our Kentucky homes. Let thy glory summon each new day:

In cabins by the winding brooks; on fields of blue where horses dance; among Thy people in their unformed cities.

Thou who hast blessed our roots in willing earth, illumine too the homestead of the spirit whence shall spring vision of a nobler commonwealth; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
