As I awoke this morning with my Savior on my mind
I thought of all the love He has for us, and how He is so kind
I thought of what He did for us on the cross at Calvary
I thought about His mercy that was displayed on that day.
The agony He bore for our sins, as He so willingly gave His life
I thought about the pain , oh it must have been so bad
I thought about how He could have called the angels and how He could
have gotton down
The only begotton Son of God, sacrificed for Salvation's plan.
There is no other name, whereby man can be saved
Only through Jesus, the Son of God, the way has been paved
To know Him is such JOY, unspeakable and full of glory
I love to tell of Jesus, someday I'll be part of His kingdom.
Until then I must perservere here in this world of sin
For I know time is drawing nearer and nearer to the end
On that glorious return of our Savior to gather His elect
He will step out on a cloud of Glory and declare time will be no more.
We will then go to live with Him in our mansion He has built for us
For an eternity of praising Jesus our Savior, oh the joy it will bring
To sing the song even the angels cannot sing
The song that has been reserved for us, how the heavens will ring.
I am waiting for this day in the sweet by and by
My Savior to come in glory as He splits the Eastern sky
I won't have no more worries, no more tears to fill my eyes
Pure joy and perfect peace and where no one ever dies.
