Mortality of Earth
Dip your hands into the river
Feeling time rush through you fingers
Overwhelmed by memories long faded
Colors whirling incomplete
Dancing long forgotten steps
Lift your eyes up to the sky
And let them see eternity
Think not on the past or future
hold in mind mortal forever
smell the chill of cold night air
Hear the silence speak to you
Soft promises of warm spring days
Laying there at crack of dawn
Staring up at faded stars
While fingers skim over silky water
does life indeed enrapture you
And as you lay there, truly alive
can you hear the throbbing heartbeat of a dying hallow earth?
So tell me
Will you stand up to save it?
Or will you wait and cry?
Tell me
Can you feel the suffering?
Or do you turn blind eyes?
Tell me honestly
Will you join the bodycount of living dead destroyers?
Or will you turn into the light, self righteous, boldly wrong?
Can you, would you, will you- pass along its' dying song?
