RE: UPDATE ON CLUB BUSINESS
CC:
This newsletter is being sent to all members to keep everyone up to date on club business. Please read carefully, some important items are mentioned.
At the July 18th 2004 monthly meeting, Treasurer C. Wilkins noted that as usual, numerous members are delinquent on their dues payments. He also stated that some members have not made an attempt to pay ANY dues for 2004. The members present discussed many options to remedy this chronic problem. After a lengthy discussion, the following motion was made and passed: "All club members’ dues must be up to date by the conclusion of the September 19th 2004 meeting or they will not be able to hunt with the club for the 2004 shotgun deer season. There will be no exceptions to this rule." Basically, what it comes down to is this: At the end of September’s meeting, the Treasurers books must show that you have paid a minimum of $180.00 towards your 2004 dues. If not, you will not be able to hunt with the club during deer week. Period. No exceptions. If you are not allowed to hunt, don’t be surprised if your bunk is permanently reassigned to another member. If you pay your dues after the September 19th deadline, you will still be a member, just not allowed to hunt in 2004. The mention of a monetary penalty was also discussed for those who pay after September’s meeting. No action was taken, but the subject will most likely come up again in September. NOTE: There will be no meeting in August. If you are not sure what you owe in dues, please feel free to contact Chuck Wilkins @ [email protected] or @ 609-588-0768. You can also contact me @ [email protected] or @ 908-369-0540. When mailing your dues, send your check, payable to Princeton Rod and Gun Club to: Chuck Wilkins, 71 Wickom Ave., Hamilton Square, NJ 08690. No other warning will be issued other than this newsletter.
On a sad note, retired member Elwood M. "Chic" Holmes passed away on June 26th. A bouquet of flowers was sent by President Conrey on behalf of the membership. Our sympathy goes out to Greg and his family.
The Buildings and Grounds Committee has set a date of early October to have the new propane furnace up and running. The committee will be researching our best method to obtain an in ground propane tank for our needs. Jack Moritz will try to make arrangements to bury the tank if we do not go with a propane vendor who provides installation. If we do it ourselves, the assistance of several members will be required. Due to Jacks busy schedule, the notice for this important work detail may be at the last minute. Every effort will be made to contact the membership to solicit your help. Hopefully we will be able to get the interior hook ups and furnace installation done at the same time. As always, all members are encouraged to participate. Once this job is completed, we may be able to figure out a way to get our woodstove installed. Again, membership participation will be required for this project.
We would like to thank Joe Conrey for his construction and installation of several window screens. Joe also replaced 2 broken windows.
In case you don’t already know, the door lock at the cabin has been changed. Keys are still available to members who are up to date with their dues.
We would like to welcome aboard our newest member, Jerry Kruse, sponsored by Matt Cronin. Also, welcome back to Kris Austin.
Chuck Wilkins is working hard on our web site @ http://www.geocities.com/princetonrodandgun . Check it out for the latest info.
As always, keep me informed of any address or phone number changes. You can call me 24/7 @ 908-369-0540 and leave a message.
On Saturday, July 24th, Joe Conrey installed screen doors for both doors. Thanks again, Joe!
