Building and Grounds
Committee Chairman J. Hance gave the following report:
- 2 new vinyl storm
windows have been installed in the meeting room by Joe Ryan. Another window
will be installed at a later date.
- 2 new screen doors
have been installed by Joe Conrey.
- The fireplace was
permanently sealed with cinderblock by Joe Ryan in order to install our wood
stove. His assistants included Joe and John Conrey, M. Burley, S.
Fitzsimmons, Mr. A. Massa, J. Moritz and D. Moore. The wood stove will be
installed at a later date.
- Propane furnace has
been installed by J. Moritz and D. Moore. The interior propane connections
have been made. The flue pipe and cold air return connections will be made at
a later date.
- The leaking shower
valve has been replaced with a new fixture, thanks to J. Moritz and D. Osmun.
- The antenna to the
kitchen TV was reconnected by D. Osmun.
- A work weekend will
take place on October 16th & 17th 2004. Food and
beverages will be served. The agenda includes giving the cabin a thorough
cleaning, removal of any and all junk that has accumulated over the years,
installation of shelves in the trap house for clay birds and targets and maybe
some painting. A list will posted and the items completed will be checked off.
Any member who cannot attend the work weekend should check the list on their
next visit and make every effort to see that remaining items are completed.
- A notice was posted
to all members to please take all of their garbage home with them when leaving
the club. The garbage that we have been placing outside the cabin has been the
target of roaming wildlife and has created a mess on numerous occasions. Now
that we no longer have our fireplace/garbage disposal and leaving the garbage
in the club creates an unsanitary condition, the removal of trash by the
members using the cabin will be necessary. At this point in time, it does not
appear necessary to take home any aluminum cans or glass bottles, provided
they are in a sealed plastic bag and placed outside in a can upon your
leaving.
- A notice to the
membership informing them of the work weekend will be sent out via E-Mail or
verbally with a phone call by the Secretary sometime in the near future.

ENDING BALANCE: $6372.35
The following report was given by Treasurer C.
Wilkins:
-
Some members have still not made the balance
of their dues payments that were due at this meeting. Since this is a
violation of the motion that was made and passed at our July 18th
2004 meeting, a motion will most likely be made at the October 16th
2004 meeting by the Treasurer and Secretary that the hunting privileges of
these members be suspended for the 2004 deer season. As for the members who
have not made any dues payments for the year, they will also be dealt with at
the October 16th meeting.
-
The Treasurer will send out notices to all
delinquent members informing them of their pending status with the club.
Expenses:
-
Tax bill from Woodland Township is pending.
-
Power bill from Connective Electric is
pending.
-
Joe Ryan’s parts bill for the materials needed
to seal the fireplace and installation of the new windows was partially offset
by his membership dues owed.

ELECTIONS: NOTHING
OLD BUSINESS:
-
Don Osmun reported that he had contacted Star
Propane and inquired about our obtaining a 500 gallon fuel tank for our needs.
-
John Hance reported that he had contacted
Suburban Propane about a 500 gallon fuel tank. There would be no cost to bury
the tank if we dig the hole. However, Surburban would require us to sign a 5
year contract with a 750 gallon minimum purchase per year. If we were not able
to meet the terms of the contract for fuel usage, a $1267.00 “back out fee”
would be charged. If we were to purchase a 500gal. tank outright, the cost
would be $1300.00. We would be responsible for the installation of the tank,
including obtaining all the necessary local and state permits.
-
J. Hance also reported that he was waiting on
a return call from Amerigas, our current vendor, for their proposal on
upgrading to a 500 gallon tank.
-
After a brief discussion of all the above
listed options, it was decided that we scrap the idea of obtaining a 500
gallon propane tank and research the installation of 2 additional 100 gallon
tanks, giving us a 300 gallon total capacity. The Building and Grounds
Committee will continue its research.
NEW BUSINESS:
-
A motion was made and passed by the members
present to issue a check in the amount of $307.94 to Jack Moritz. This is to
reimburse him for the out of pocket expenses incurred for the purchase of
parts needed to replace the shower valve ($70.00), for the furnace plenum
($65.00) and other parts and materials for the furnace installation. Jack
noted that there will be additional purchases he will have to make to complete
the furnace installation, such as; the return air duct work, the flue pipe,
duct work to provide heat to the large restroom and misc. parts and
accessories.
-
The members present expressed their thanks to
Jack for all the time he has put in on the furnace installation. His expenses
only cover the parts; he has donated all of his labor.
-
The October 2004 monthly meeting will be on
Saturday, October 16th in conjunction with the work weekend.
