A work week-end was held on 4-17-2004 and 4-18-2004. The old oil furnace was removed from the gun room. It was placed outside and was picked up by a local resident. Some branches along the driveway were cut back and some of the old carpets in the bunk rooms were removed. President Conrey also noted that a new lock was installed on the cabin entrance door. MEMBERSHIP/APPLICATIONS/RESIGNATIONS:
Jerry Kruse was voted in as a new member. He was proposed by Matt Cronin.
President Conrey noted that Jerry Vasallo again expressed interest in rejoining the membership. As he still owes past dues, he will have to work out his financial situation with the Treasurer and President to bring his dues up to date.
Since Dave Russel still owes dues from 2003 and has not paid any dues for 2004, it was agreed by all present that his membership be terminated immediately.
Secretary Hance expressed concern that the $100.00 per year Junior Membership fee that was instituted at the March meeting may be a deterrent to Junior Membership. He stated that we should be encouraging young members to join with more reasonable membership dues. After a brief discussion among the members present, a motion was made and passed that a $20.00 per year Junior Membership fee be instituted.
A motion was also made and passed that former member Kris Austin’s membership be reinstated at the new Junior Membership fee effective immediately. As before, he will be sponsored by Mr. Al Massa.
ELECTIONS: NOTHING
OLD BUSINESS:
New keys are being distributed to members who are up to date with their dues.
NEW BUSINESS:
Secretary J. Hance said he will look into purchasing televisions at an upcoming Somerset County auction.
J. Hance also stated that he will work on retyping the club by-laws to reflect the changes made at previous meetings. No completion date was mentioned.
There will be NO club meeting in June due to it being Fathers day. The next scheduled monthly meeting will be JULY 16th, 2004.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Perhaps we will be able to make some type of arrangements and organize a saltwater fishing trip during the upcoming season. Information will be made available when plans are finalized.
