Cabin Chairman J. Hance gave the following report:

J. Hance said that the main concern now is to get the new propane furnace installed and operating. The installation of a wood stove would be secondary. The members present discussed whether we should purchase and install the fuel tank ourselves, giving us the option of purchasing fuel from a vendor of our choice or obtain a tank from a vendor (rent) and purchase fuel from them exclusively. It was also discussed as to whether a vendor would install the tank for us and what type of permits would be required. A. Caruso also questioned what type of service agreement and warranty would be provided by the vendor. J. Moritz noted that it would be in our best interest to get a large tank, thereby taking advantage of the bulk rate price for fuel. Jack also said that if we should have to bury the tank ourselves, he should be able to use his backhoe to assist in the installation, depending on his work schedule and availability of his equipment. The assistance of the membership would be required to help him complete the installation, and the notice given as to a time and date may be at the last minute. It was agreed that all options would be researched by the committee and a decision will be made by them that would be in the best interest of the club.

J. Hance also thanked Joe Conrey for constructing and installing 4 window screens, 2 for the meeting room and 2 for the large bunk room.

Treasurer C. Wilkins gave the following report:

It was noted that a $60.00 flower arrangement was sent by President Conrey on behalf of the membership to the funeral of retired member Elwood ‘Chic’ Holmes who passed away on 6-26-2004.

C. Wilkins noted that once again, numerous members are delinquent on dues payments. He also stated that some members have not paid any dues for 2004. This initiated a rather lively discussion among the members present. J. Moritz suggested that we implement some type of surcharge for members who are delinquent. It was discussed at length but no formal action was taken. Other remedies were discussed, and it was agreed that the following motion be put to a vote by the members present: "All club members’ dues must be up to date by the conclusion of the September 19th 2004 meeting or they will not be able to hunt with the club for the 2004 shotgun deer season. There will be no exceptions to this rule". The preceding motion passed by the majority present. It was agreed by all that the Secretary will send out a newsletter/notice to all members of this policy change.
