OLD BUISNESS:

Water system is still work in progress.

NEW BUISNESS:

JoeConrey replaced furnace control box. The old box showed evidence of water damage from our old flue pipe.

A lengthy discussion was initiated on what we are going to do about our temperamental oil furnace. J. Moritz and Joe Conrey have been checking into a propane furnace. J. Moritz can get a propane furnace (if still available at the distributor) with a 90,000 BTU output for approx. $350.00. J. Conrey stated that after checking with our propane distributor, we could get a free inground "submarine" propane tank with hook-ups to the cabin as long as we sign a 5-yr. contract for all our propane needs. Interior connections and installation of the furnace itself may incur additional costs, depending how much work we can do ourselves. A. Caruso noted that purchasing a new furnace would eliminate the cost of our repairs to our existing furnace, propane is cleaner to use and that this would make the club ‘totally" propane (water, cooking and heat). It would also allow us to deal with only fuel source distributor. T. McCarty made a motion that we purchase the new furnace. A vote was taken and the motion was passed by the membership. J. Moritz will follow-up on obtaining the furnace.

M. Burley would be willing to donate a wood stove to the club. It was suggested that the stove be installed in the fireplace, which would no longer be used. Other installation ideas were discussed. When we obtain the stove, installation plans will be finalized. The stove would be installed by the membership.

J. Hance suggested that we form a "Buildings and Grounds Committee". The committee would be responsible for cabin repairs, ground maintenance, agendas for work weekends, etc. The President would appoint a Committee Chairman. The committee would report to the membership at the monthly meetings. Since this will be a standing committee, the club’s By-Laws will need to be changed. The motion to form the committee will be tabled until the February 15, 2004 meeting. Exact responsibilities of the committee will be discussed at this time.

OTHER BUISNESS:

It was great to see Dennis Moore at the meeting.

The 2004 "Sportsman’s Challenge" sponsored by Billy Boy will be held on March 28th. See J. Conrey for more details.
