This is an intermediate step of a long project that involved a sort of ying-yang design that was later turned into a "pattern" that was suitable to be printed onto a textile or possibly as a paper design.  This was based on Manhattan landmarks.
The same subject two ways...on the left, strict linear perspective as in the 15th century, on the right, cubist style a la the early 20th century.   Please note, cubism is not my strong suit.  Sorry about the scan quality - the thing seems to hate pencil marks of many kinds...
Just a small sample of some of the things that have been keeping me busy and far from the internet.  Above is a sort of self portrait that I designed as my personal logo...featuring the ever popular clone cut from my Disneyland days (if you have to ask, you never worked there in the 80's).  More paintings and drawings need to be photographed and scanned...
New for 2003 sketches...
This is my character sketch for an other-worldly creature that we were assigned for my 3-D design class.  Afterwards, we built armitures from heavy-guage wire, then "built" the creatures from oil clay.  I don't recommend using that stuff unless you absolutely must.  My fingers were stained blue and purple and there are still little blue & purple spots in my nice beige living room carpet...  The finished character was about 10" tall, but I don't have a photo of her (ahem...Karen????)  By the way, her name is Luna, and she makes dreams come true.
An ordinary sketch of ordinary tulips on that warped sketchpad...
