Andrea's school jacket Little Andrea loves the color pink, and she loves dolls. I made this jacket and she's been wearing it constantly!

Stage 1. The pieces were cut from felt and I fused the decoration to the jacket back and front pocket.

Stage 2. Our friend Sunny Bunny poses with the pieces after the embroidery has been completed. The pocket reads "friends forever."

Final stage! After delays due to costume construction for a production of "Amadeus," I got the little jacket done! The sleeves and body are lined in two different calicos, the edges are bound with a twill tape (hand sewn) and that's a little wooden heart for a button closure. BTW, I also made the needlepoint/patchwork pillow behind the jacket and the log cabin quilt on the seat cushions of our sofa.

Here is a back view of the completed jacket. The sleeves are lined in the same material that was used to edge the large pockets which reach all the way to the side seams. I happened to bring the jacket over when the poor child was home sick with the flu. I put it on her giant stuffed bunny (that never leaves her side) and she soon took it away from Bunny and put it on over her Barbie nightie. It gives me a lot of pleasure to make something that someone really loves! BACK
