I have to admit that out of all of Arwen's gorgeous costumes, this one is my least favourite.  However, it is still, by any standards, absolutely beautiful, and a work of art.  I will not be doing much detail on this dress - for a more detailed description, please visit alleycatscratch.

The dress is a purple metallic brocade, with a v-neck that is quite similar in style to the chase dress. 

It has a split open sleeve which reveals an undersleeve.

It buttons down the front to the waist.

About the waist is a thick sash with a tail that goes almost to the floor.  On the bottom of the sash is an elaborate embroidery pattern.

The dress seems to change color slightly from photograph to photograph - perhaps it is just the difference in lighting.  In some photos it looks a beautiful rich purple color, in others it looks almost burgundy.
