"Into Overtime"
When Koji's power-up finally came mercifully to an end, he stood there as the envrironmental effects subsided, his golden flaming aura still ensheathing him as electricity continued to crackle around his aura! Usami looked on incredulously, as did everyone else! The electricity did not stop crackling around Koji's energy aura, and Koji looked somehow refreshed and poised for another go at it! Koji's hair was just a bit longer, and it was spiked up a little tighter in his new power, but it was still blond! His green eyes reflected a new level of intensity and focus! Koji wasn't smiling, he was glaring menacingly at Usami, who's eyes widened!
"Wh-what's this?!?" Usami muttered aloud in complete bewilderment as he tried to understand what had happened to Koji.
Without uttering a word, Koji began walking towards Usami, the electricity still crackling around and in his energy aura. Usami took a couple of slow steps backwards, his eyes wide with disbelief and just a hint of fear. Even the emotionless robot Dregor seemed entranced by this awe-inspiring scene being played out before him.
"What happened to you?" Usami cried out, almost demanding that Koji tell him the answer.
Koji still did not speak a word as he continued to power-walk towards Usami, a stride which spoke volumes of the fact that this Super Saiyan meant business. Usami stood there, that deer-in-the-headlight expression on his face, and pondered what would happen next. Yoshio and Yuko were also incredulous over Koji's new transformation, but Kato just smiled.
Suddenly, Kato flew over and hammered Dregor with a roundhouse kick to the body, denting the robot terribly and knocking him across their island with thunderous impact while the distracted robot was still watching the confrontation between Koji and Usami! The robot skidded across the ground, stirring up a dust trail in his wake! Kato pursued the robot to continue the clash the two of them had been having!
"Oh, well! Turnabout's fair play!" the young Ascended Super Saiyan replied with a chuckle as he closed on the robot to continue their fight.
Meaanwhile, Usami regained his composure as Koji stopped and stood right in front of him! Usami then began an all-out effort to hit Koji with punches and kicks, but Koji seemed to dodge each and every attack with supreme ease! Usami struggle futilely to land a shot, but the Super Saiyan still managed to dodge the attacks with little effort!
"What's going on here?" Usami growled in total disbelief at his inability to hit Koji, growing more frustrated and angry by the second. "Why can't I hit you? How is it possible for you to acquire such power and speed? You were beaten only moments ago! It's not possible! I should be finishing you off right now! There's just no way you could improve this much just by raising your power level and pumping up your muscles like Yukio did! Tell me how you're doing this!"
"I'm not assuming the Ascended Super Saiyan form like Yukio did," Koji calmly informed Usami while still dodging his attacks easily. "I'm not even assuming the Ultra Super Saiyan form which is a step past the Ascended Super Saiyan form which Yukio transformed into to fight you. I've gone far beyond those inferior transformations now. In this form, my strength, speed, and power are greatly increased over my Super Saiyan powers, and I don't have to sacrifice speed for power or vice-versa. I think I'll call this form Super Saiyan Two."
Usami continued to struggle for a few more seconds to hit Koji with his lightning fast flurry of hand-to-hand attacks, but Koji remained untouchable! Usami then disengaged and seperated form Koji, charging up a powerful special beam cannon attack to fire at Koji! Usami fired it and disappeared! Koji swatted the blast away nonchalantly and disappeared as Usami reappeared and tried to catch Koji from behind with a kick, missing the long-gone Saiyan!
Looking up into the sky, the incredulous incubus android was stunned to see that Koji was now more than a mile above him! Grimacing in rage and frustration, Usami flew up to attack Koji again! Koji remained almost serenely calm and stoic as he watched the monster fly up at him!
"How dare you toy with me like that!" Usami roared as he closed the distance between himself and Koji. "You're going to pay for that!"
Usami threw a punch at Koji, but Koji caught Usami's fist in one hand and stopped the punch while trapping Usami's fist! Usami was in stunned disbelief over this!
"I don't think so," Koji said as he glared menacingly into Usami's eyes, somewhat intimidating the monster.
Recomposing himself, Usami threw the other fist at Koji, but Koji disappeared from the path of the punch! Turning around, Usami was shocked to see Koji hovering in the air right behind him! Usami tensed every muscle in his body and grimaced, powering up greatly! Koji didn't seem impressed in the least, but Usami didn't even realize that in his seething anger! Koji nonchalantly flew backwards very slowly, and Usami went after him at full speed! As Usami threw another punch at Koji, Koji disappeared, reappearing a great distance away! Angrilly, Usami charged up a pair of keinzan disks and threw them at Koji!
Koji was pursued all over the place by Usami's disks, but he never seemed worried about it! He always remained a step ahead of the disks! Usami seemed to be the one under pressure! Suddenly, Koji stopped and caught both disks before they could hit him! This stunned everyone watching, especially Usami! With a flick of his energy, Koji destroyed the disks harmlessly! Usami grew angrier at the sight of that!
"Let's see you stop this one!" Usami roared as he charged up a kamehameha wave, pumping an incredible amount of energy into it. "Time's up, Saiyan! Now, you die!"
Usami fired a gigantic kamehameha wave at Koji, causing Yuko and Yoshio to tremble and blubber in sheer horror! Koji seemed unimpressed by the massive blast heading straight for him! Koji just waited for Usami's attack to get almost to him and then casually fired a kamehameha blast of his own into Usami's kamehameha blast, and the two blasts collided and began pushing against each other!
Meanwhile, Kato charged up a kamehameha blast and fired it into Dregor! The rampaging robot was showing the signs of heavy battle damage as some exposed circuits here and there crackled with electricity, and his sensors flickered several times! Dregor no longer had the ability to move with any real speed because of the damage Kato had done to him! Dregor was badly dented up, and he stood sagging in front of the child Super Saiyan! Kato's kamehameha wave slammed into Dregor and exploded like a small nuclear bomb!When the smoke cleared, he saw bits of wire, circuitry, bolts, and scrap metal scattered all across the battlefield! Kato was well-pleased with his handiwork!
Meanwhile, Koji's kamehameha wave began overpowering Usami's kamehameha wave, and it pushed the blast back up towards the monstrous incubus android! Usami tried to turn the tide of the struggle, but Koji's blast was just too strong for him to overpower! He knew he couldn't deflect or block the energy attack, so Usami used the instant transmission technique to escape certain doom and appear right behind Koji! Koji just popped Usami right in the face with a back fist punch without even turning around, stunning the monster as Koji's kamehameha pushed Usami's blast right out into space!
Usami lunged forward to try to attack Koji from behind again, but Koji flew up over Usami's attack and then flew straight down, without even altering his last body positioning, to drive his already set elbow into the back of Usami, knocking the menace to the ground with a tremendous crater-forming impact that threw a lot of dust into the air! Koji then lowered his arm and waited for Usami's return!
Seconds later, there was an explosive energy surge which blasted out the crater from within, and it was accompanied by a fierce battle cry in Usami's voice! Usami then flew up out of the crater to face Koji again! Usami tensed up and began raising even more energy to fight Koji! His power seemed enormous, and it took a similar toll with regards to environmental effects! This power-up lasted a few seconds, and then it was over! Koji was unimpressed still as he maintained a stoic visage!
"There! Now, how do you like that?" Usami inquired tauntingly to Koji as he seemed caught up in himself. "I've raised my fighting power even more! What do you think of that?"
"Is that all you've got?" Koji inquired tauntingly as he maintained his stoic countenace in the face of Usami's increased power.
In a fit of rage, Usami threw a mighty punch with far more speed than before! Usami's fist collided with Koji's jaw, turning his head and splitting his lip a bit more to renew the flow of blood! Koji's family watched on in horror, with Kato now standing next to the others still in Ascended Super Saiyan form!
"Oh, no!" Yoshio muttered in grave concern and horror. "His speed has increased as much as his power! Where's he hiding all of his energy?!?"
"Don't worry, Uncle Yoshio!" Kato said confidently as he recomposed himself in the wake of Usami's successful attack. "Dad's not finished yet!"
Kato's words rang true, for, as Usami drew back his fist to revel in his handiwork, Koji turned back around with a slight smile on his face to reveal that he wasn't hurt by the attack, startling Usami!
Usami prepared to hammer Koji with an even more powerful punch, but Koji's speed was greater still than the monster's, enabling him to get in a punch to Usami's midsection first which knocked the breath out of the monster, made him spit up blood, and hurled him into the sky! Koji then casually wiped the blood trail from his face with the back of his fist as he observed Usami!
Usami stopped his unplanned flight and screamed his rage into the heavens, and his muscles bulged dramatically like Koji's did in the Chamber of Spirit and Time when he transformed into his Ultra Super Saiyan form! Koji watched as the monster descended to the ground where Koji had already landed! Usami landed with a ground-shaking thud, hulkingly looming over the calm, relaxed Super Saiyan!
"You fool!" Usami roared in a deeper, more brutish voice than before as he clenched both fists up in front of him while addressing Koji. "You little gnat! I am a god! I am supreme in the universe! I am perfect! No one can defeat me! No one is my equal! I shall crush you, you insignificant little pest! I am Usami! Do you hear me, Saiyan?!?"
"Put a sock in it, you bloated buffoon," Koji replied in nonchalant calmness, not even raising his hands to defend himself.
"Oh, I'll show you!" Usami roared as he began attacking Koji with great fervor, but, unfortunately for Usami, Koji's speed advantage was even greater than before with all of Usami's bulk slowing him down.
Koji dodged a series of savage haymaker-style attacks before drilling Usami in the midsection with a straight punch, knocking the wind out of him and doubling him over! Koji then slammed a backflip double-footed kick underneath Usami's chin, launching him skyward as Koji completed the backflip portion of his maneuver and landed on his feet, calmly enjoying the results of his counterattacks against Usami! After sailing a great distance into the sky, Usami stopped his unplanned flight and grimaced towards Koji!
Koji turned his attention towards his family, and he smiled very lovingly towards them. They pondered what he was thinking, but they didn't have to wait long for that mystery to be revealed.
"Yuko, my beloved wife. Even if I have not said it often enough, I do love you," Koji said, addressing each in turn and starting with his wife. "Kato, my son. You are my only son and the perpetuation of my legacy. You've made me very, very proud - more than words can say.
"Yoshio, my brother-in-law. You've shown profound honor and great courage over the years that I have known you. You are my wife's brother, and your devotion to her is evident. You have been an important part in the life of my son as well. Although you are not a Saiyan, I am proud to call you family. Look after Yuko and Kato for me. The end is drawing near. In order to defeat Usami, I must generate an attack sufficient to destroy him utterly, and I only know of one way to do it. Please, get everyone out of here right now."
With those words said, there was a twinkle in the Super Saiyan's eyes, then he turned his attention back to the monster in the sky above him. Yoshio, Yuko, and Kato all looked at him incredulously, confused by what he said.
"I said get out of here!" Koji yelled rebukingly at his family, snapping them savagely back to their senses. "Now!"
Like scolded puppies, his family began flying away from the battlefield, tears welling up in their eyes. Kato still did not understand what was going on. Yuko had already begun to weep uncontrollably until Yoshio had to wrap his arms around her to help her fly.
"Uncle Yoshio," Kato addressed his human uncle. "What did Dad mean by what he said back there? What did he mean when he said there was only one way to generate an attack strong enough to beat that thing?"
"I'll tell you when we get back to the lookout, Kato," Yoshio muttered, fighting to hold back his own tears as he carried Yuko. "Let's go, and don't look back. We need to get far away from there as quickly as we can."
"Why is everybody crying?" Kato thought to himself as he flew alongside his uncle towards the lookout. "What is it? Is there something they're not telling me? What's Dad gonna do that's so aweful that we have to get away from the battlefield?"
Back at the battlefield, Usami growled in his ever-growing rage as he glared at Koji. Koji just looked back at Usami with that same confident look on his face. Koji then removed the chest protector from over his tattered spandex outfit and tossed it aside without ever taking his eyes off of Usami. Usami was confused by this, but nonetheless he remained focused.
"I'm going to finish you fight now!" Usami roared as he lifted his hands over his head. "Super kaio-ken!"
After shouting that very loudly, Usami's power swelled massively within him, causing his golden flaming aura to take a slightly red tint to it! Usami then quickly pushed all of his energy into a massive deathball like Xarlok was able to generate! Grimacing in horror and concern, Koji stood poised, waiting for the attack to be launched!
"Now I'm going to destroy you and the entire planet, you worthless monkey!" Usami roared as the threw his deathball at Koji.
As the attack drew near, Koji released all of his energy in one rage-filled scream, and his energy aura ballooned like a giant fireball with electricity still crackling in and around it! Koji then thrust both of his open hands upward towards the gigantic, almost moon-sized deathball! All of Koji's energy was channeled into a single massive blast that slammed into Usami's deathball and began pushing it back towards Usami! In total shock and disbelief, Usami pumped all of his power into the deathball, trying to force it towards Koji and the planet!
Pebbles, stones, and rocks began rising from the ground during this power struggle, and the entire planet began shaking violently, prompting everyone of the heroes - including the newly revived Kien - to turn in horror towards the location of the horrible clash! Koji put all of his energy into his blast, reaching down deep into himself! The sky went black, and all of the environmental effects from Koji's power-up to Super Saiyan Two returned with greater intensity than before! Even Shun's lookout threatened to crumble apart from the violent shaking it endured due to the unfathomable energies being unleashed on the battlefield!
Suddenly, Koji's blast simply overwhelmed Usami's, and both attacks washed over the monster like a fiery tidal wave! Usami's body began disintegrating as the energy swallowed him up, and he screamed in pain and disbelieving denial that a Saiyan had defeated him when all others could not! Koji screamed his rage into the heavens as the entire battlefield was enveloped in a sort of nuclear fireball! When it was over, Usami was completely gone, and Koji collapsed to the ground, dropping back to his normal Saiyan form!
Looking into the sky through blurring eyes, the Saiyan felt the warmth of his own tears fading from him as a certain numbness began to set in. There was complete destruction covering about a mile from Koji's location in all directions. Nothing but a few chunks of land survived that last attack. In his fading consciousness, Koji remembered the death of his father at the hands of Tarboz. Then his memories of his own family came to the fore.
"Now, ... I know the loss ... my father felt ... that day," Koji muttered as one last gasp of breath escaped his lips, and then everything went dark and silent for the mighty Saiyan.
The others could only mourn their loss, and poor Kato only now realized the sacrifice his father had made for them all. He screamed in horror and anguish, his Super Saiyan aura flaring massively as he did so. His hair stiffened a bit more, and electricity began to crackle around the wailing boy's golden flaming aura as he seemed to inherit his father's mantle in that terrible moment. Kato began weeping bitterly as he flew towards the battlefield to where he last felt his father's presense. All the other heroes likewise began making their way to the battlefield to pay their last respects.
