"Gao Meets King Kai"
Gao slid along the Snake Way, loving every moment of his thrill ride. Merrily, he played as he continued on his journey along Snake Way. After a great distance was covered, Gao stood up and noticed he was finally at the end of the path. He scratched his head in amazement.
"Gao at end of Snake Way," the jolly genie replied as he looked on in amazement, searching for the planet.
"Oh! There planet over there!" Gao exclaimed as he looked up and pointed at the planet in the distance. "Big man said fun at planet at end of Snake Way! There planet! Gao go find fun!"
Gao took flew from the end of Snake Way over to the planet. After entering the planet's gravity, the jolly genie landed and looked around in curiosity. He looked to the left and then scratched his head in bewilderment. Then he looked to the right and scratched his head once again.
"Where fun?" Gao inquired, slightly confused as he continued to look around for something fun to get into. "Not over here! Nope! Not there! Not over there! Where? Maybe Gao look around some more!"
Gao began walking along, looking far and wide for something to catch his eye. After walking a great distance, he saw a house in the distance. Merrily, he celebrated seeing the house.
"Oh! Over there look fun!" Gao cheered happily as he prepared to go to the house. "Look like fun over there! Over there! Fun! Gao go!"
Gao flew from where he stood over to the house. He landed out in front of the house and began looking around for someone to talk to or something to do, scratching his head. Soon, King Kai and his two companions, Bubbles and Gregory, came out of the house to meet him.
"Well, hello there!" King Kai called out to Gao, getting the jolly genie's attention and causing him to smile happily. "I thought we had a visitor out here! Well, what's your name, friend?"
"Me Gao!" the genie replied like an excited child. "Big man at desk said me find fun here! You know where fun is, little man?"
"My name is King Kai," King Kai replied, posing dramatically before Gao. "These are my friends: Bubbles the monkey and Gregory the grasshopper. If you've come here seeking training, you must first pass a test. But, before you do, I'll give you a demonstration."
King Kai cleared his throat as he prepared himself to begin, and Gao watched on in increasing curiosity.
"Why did the chicken cross the road?" King Kai inquired with a proud grin on his face.
"Huh?" Gao responded in complete bewilderment and confusion as he scratched his head. "Why did chicken cross road? Gao not know. Why did chicken cross road?"
"Why to get to the other side, of course!" King Kai exclaimed as he erupted into a fit of laughter, almost falling over in his frenzied fervor.
"To get to other side?" Gao muttered as he scratched his head again, looking at King Kai in bewilderment. "Chicken cross road to get to other side. Chicken cross road to get to other side. Chicken cross road to get to other side. Gao no get it."
"Hmmm," King Kai muttered in disappointment as he held his chin in deep thought, considering Gao's lack of understanding. "Why do I always get the ones with no sense of humor? This one's worse than Goku!"
"King Kai not make sense!" Gao declared with certainty as he regarded the strange little guy before him. "Gao want to play!"
"Oh, brother!" King Kai thought to himself as he noted the genie's childishness. "This guy's a hopeless mental case! He'll never get any joke I tell, and that's a real shame! I had high hopes for this silly-looking guy!"
"King Kai know where Gao can find fun?" Gao inquired in seriousness as he addressed King Kai.
"Let's just try again from another angle, why don't we?" King Kai said as he considered what to do or say next. "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
"Huh?" Gao replied in more confusion. Which came first, chicken or egg? Chicken come from egg, but egg come from chicken that came from egg that came from chicken that came from - Gao get big headache! Gao not know! Which one first, chicken or egg? Tell Gao!"
"The egg came first," King Kai replied with a big grin on his face as he rubbed his stomach. "I had eggs for breakfast. I'll have chicken later."
"Oh!" Gao answered following a momentary pause, as if finally understanding King Kai's joke. "Breakfast come before lunch or supper, so egg come first! Gao get it now!"
Gao laughed hysterically at the joke, and King Kai joined in the laughter. Bubbles and Gregory regarded both plump laughing guys with a hint of bewilderment before they finally broke into laughter as well. They all fell over onto the ground, rolling around on the ground as they laughed. They all laughed for several moments before they sat up grinning.
"Hey!" King Kai exclaimed gleefully at the results of his joke. "It looks like you've got a sense of humor after all! You're also smarter than Goku! It took him a while to get any of my jokes!"
"King Kai funny little fellow!" Gao chuckled as he grinned from ear to ear while sitting up on the ground. "What we do now? We play now?"
"Well, now it's your turn to make me laugh," King Kai said as he stood up and brushed himself off, prompting everyone else to get up as well.
"Gao make King Kai laugh?" Gao pondered the notion for a few moments in an effort to come up with a way to do it. "Okay! Me do it!"
Gao walked over to King Kai and began tickling his belly, and King Kai was taken completely offguard by this approach. Bubbles and Gregory looked on in confusion as well.
"Hey! What are you doing?" King Kai inquired in confusion as he struggled to restrain his laughter from being tickled.
"You said make you laugh," Gao explained as he continued to tickle King Kai, "so that what Gao do! You laugh soon now!"
Moments later, King Kai began to snicker and snort as he struggled to keep from laughing. Moments after that, King Kai's resistance was broken, and he began laughing uncontrollably. Gao smiled at his success.
"See!" Gao exclaimed as King Kai fell to the ground laughing again, prompting Gao to stop tickling him and celebrate his success. "Gao make you laugh! You laugh good and hard now! What we do now?"
King Kai laughed for several more moments before he finally regained his composure. King Kai then got back to his feet once again, dusting himself off like before. Bubbles and Gregory laughed at this for a moment.
"Well, since I didn't say how you should make me laugh, I'll let that count as success," King Kai replied, prompting Gao to celebrate this decree. "Now, we'll begin your training!"
"Okay!" Gao replied as he gave King Kai his full attention in an effort to learn what he had to teach. "What do now?"
"I want to test your strength and speed," King Kai said as he assumed a fighting stance before Gao, confusing Gao. "Let's see how well you do in an exhibition fight against me under ten times Earth gravity. You see, my planet has a really high gravity, so I want to know if you're able to endure the gravity here or not."
"High gravity?" Gao inquired rhetorically as he scratched his head and looked around. "What high gravity? Gao not feel anything."
"Really?" King Kai asked in surprise at the proclamation of the giant jolly genie. "Then you don't feel heavier than normal?"
"Nope!" Gao proclaimed proudly as he posed dramatically with both fists on his hips as his feet were planted shoulder-width apart. "Gao not feel any heavier, but Gao not eat lunch yet either!"
"Well, good!" King Kai said with a smile. "Then you'll be able to demonstrate your full potential! Show me what you've got!"
"King Kai want Gao to fight him?" Gao inquired in great confusion. "But King Kai is Gao's friend! Gao no like to fight!"
"This is part of your training, Gao," King Kai replied as he maintained his fighting stance. "We're not trying to hurt each other. We'll be sparring. That means that we'll fight to test our skills against each other but not to hurt each other. We're still friends."
"Hmmm," Gao replied as he rubbed his chin while considering what King Kai said, pondering hard his words. "Okay. If you say so. But Gao very strong! Not want to hurt King Kai!"
Gao took a fighting stance similar to King Kai's, and King Kai noted the similarities between his own fighting stance and Gao's.
"Don't worry about me, you big lug!" King Kai thought to himself as he realized Gao's fighting stance was like his. "What's this? I'm sensing something odd about him! I think he might be stronger than I previously suspected! Maybe I'll lead off!"
King Kai hammered Gao with a lunging side kick to the midsection, putting a dent into the behemoth's belly! King Kai then punched Gao in the face, putting a dent into his blubbery cheek! King Kai then backed up in amazement, not sure what to make of this! Gao didn't seem to be shaken up by his attacks, just his skin was dented in from the force of the attacks!
"What?!?" King Kai exclaimed incredulously as he looked at the big, lumpy, pink creature before him. "He just absorbed those attacks without even flinching! His blubbery skin just absorbs the impact!"
Gao tensed up, and the dents in his skin were pushed back out, restoring his normal appearance. King Kai and his training companions were startled to see this power.
"Unbelievable!" King Kai muttered in disbelief as his eyes widened at the sight of Gao's regeneration. "He healed himself! How did he do that?"
"Little man hit hard, but he no hurt Gao!" Gao stated proudly as he renewed his fighting stance. "Now, Gao show King Kai his strength!"
Gao threw a punch at King Kai, landing it right in the middle of his face! King Kai was knocked through the air for an incredible distance! King Kai landed in the dirt and skidded for quite a distance! When his skidding came to a halt, he was stunned from the impact of Gao's powerful punch, and he lay there on the ground looking up, seeing stars before his glassy eyes!
"Whoa!" King Kai muttered in his dazed and stunned state while trying to regain his composure. "He tried to warn me that he was strong! Why didn't I listen? I've never been hit that hard before!"
Gao, Bubbles, and Gregory quickly made their way over to where King Kai lay prone on the ground. They looked upon the downed King Kai with great concern on their faces.
"Uh-oh!" Gao said when he saw King Kai's condition. "Him fall down! Him look hurt! Gao fix!"
Gao put his hand onto the place where he hit King Kai, and he channeled some of his energy there. When the glow subsided, King Kai was healed. He stood up and looked at Gao, and Bubbles and Gregory were astounded at Gao's ability.
"I'm healed!" King Kai replied as he took note of Gao's incredible ability to heal others. "Incredible! Maybe we should try something else now. Let's test your speed now. I want you to catch Bubbles the monkey! Go!"
Bubbles reacted with total shock and fear at that proclamation, and then he began running from Gao. Gao looked at the fleeing monkey and then back at King Kai before finally looking back at Bubbles and shrugging his shoulders in nonchalant compliance.
"Okay," Gao said as he regarded the fleeing Bubbles with a lack of enthusiasm for the chase.
Gao seemed to vanish from the spot where he stood as he moved with unbelievable speed. Seconds later, he came skipping back to King Kai and Gregory carrying Bubbles in his hand. When he stopped in front of King Kai and Gregory, he dropped Bubbles, and the monkey landed on his feet and looked back at Gao in disbelief. Everyone except Gao was amazed.
"Gao catch Bubbles. What we do next?" Gao inquired in great pride over his accomplishment.
