Zephyrrian Saga
Chapter 6
The Planet Zephyrr.
Yun, using the split form technique, was simultaneously fighting both Cong and Feng as two Nameks. Kenji was also poised to begin a clash against Wei. Meanwhile, Kuang and Emiko merely watched from their places, with Emiko hidden on the butte.
Wei flew at Kenji and punched him in the face, knocking him on his backside immediately! Kenji sat up, holding his face with one hand and yelping repeatedly in pain! Wei laughed at the painstricken human!
"Silly Earthling!" Wei taunted the human fighter Kenji as Kenji slowly got to his feet, still holding his face and yelping. "What can you hope to do against me?"
"Okay!" Kenji growled in anger as he removed his hands from his bruised face and clenched his fists before assuming a destructo disk attack stance. "Try this one on for size!"
Kenji charged the attack in his hands while Wei watched on in amusement. After charging the attack, he thrust his hands forward and fired the blast at Wei, shouting a drawn-out cry of "Destructo disk!"
"What's this?!?" Wei cried out in surprise as the destructo disk streaked towards him from Kenji's extended hands.
Wei dodged the attack and flew up to melee range to renew the conflict with Kenji! Kenji began throwing punches and kicks at the cocky villain, but Wei was easily able to evade each and every attack Kenji threw at him! Kenji tried as best he could, but Wei's defensive skills were too great for him to overcome! Wei then hammered Kenji with a flurry of punches to the face, further bruising and bloodying the battered Earthman's face in the process! Wei then slammed a powerful roundhouse kick into Kenji's torso, knocking the human across the landscape for quite some distance!
Meanwhile, Yun was still managing to challenge both Cong and Feng simultaneously with his splitform technique! Feng was getting angrier by the minute over his embarassment at being picked apart by Yun! Cong was getting frustrated and worried over his own struggle with the splitform of the mighty Namek!
Elsewhere, Akira was taking a well-deserved rest from his training, and he was sitting at a table with Jiani. There was a massive feast set before him, and he was devouring it like some garbage disposal on overdrive. Jiani had barely put a dent in her one plate of food, and already he had a number of large stacks of empty plates piled next to him on the table and was still going after the meal like he hadn't eaten in days. She was incredulous over the magnitude of his appetite, and he was singlemindedly focused on putting the act of eating.
"Does he have a tape worm or something?" Jiani thought to herself as she marveled at his feeding frenzy. "I've seen dinosaurs eat less in an entire lifetime than he's eating right now! It's like he's got a bottomless stomach or something! It's unbelievable! If he keeps this up, he'll be too full to fight!"
"This is great!" Akira declared in between bites as he continued to devour unbelievable amounts of food in rapid fashion. "It's delicious! Thanks!"
"Uhhh, ... sure," Jiani replied in stunned amazement, still not sure of what to make of this. "I'm glad you like it. Don't you think you should hold off a bit? I mean, if you're too full, it might hamper your effectiveness when you fight."
"Don't worry about that!" Akira said with a cheerful grin on his face. "We Saiyans metabolize food very quickly! It won't slow me down in the least! In fact, it'll refuel me!"
At that comment, Akira suddenly turned his attention across the ship, and he seemed concerned about something all of a sudden. Jiani sensed it too. They both then turned to each other with serious expressions on their faces.
"Someone's already fighting out there!" Akira proclaimed as he stood up from the table and wiped his mouth with his napkin. "It's time! I've got to go!"
"Very well, but let me provide you with some new attire," Jiani said as she extended her hands towards him, placing her hands upon his chest.
He was surrounded by a glow, and his ruined Saiyan armor was transformed into a new set of clothes. His attire resembled a deep purple version of Goku's orange outfit, similar to a Namek's attire, and it was completed with his white Saiyan attire boots, red wristbands, and a black waist sash. Akira checked out his new duds with a smile.
"Hey! Cool threads!" Akira proclaimed at the sight of his new clothes before turning his attention back to the direction of the battle he was sensing. "You stay here! I'll take care of this! After your training, I know I'm ready!"
"I'm sure that you are," she agreed with a smile of shared confidence. "Please, be careful out there."
"Don't worry about me," he replied as he looked at her and smiled pleasantly, placing a hand on her shoulder reassuringly. "I'll be fine."
With that said, he turned his attention once more to the direction of the battle. Placing the first two fingers of his right hand to his forehead, he focused on the destination. In an instant, he had disappeared from the Kai's ship.
Back at the battlefield, he reappeared to see Wei charging at Kenji and two Yuns battling Cong and Feng. Emiko was startled to see him appearing there out of nowhere, and Kuang noted the arrival of the Saiyan with great surprise.
With the arrival of Akira distracting Wei, Kenji placed his hands in front of his own face in the solar flare position as Wei turned around to look at him again! With a cry of "solar flare!" preceeding the attack technique, Kenji momentarily blinded Wei with it! He then assumed a kamehameha stance in mid-air, powering up the technique while Wei was blinded! Then, with the "kamehameha!" battle cry drawn-out, Kenji launched the attack into Wei's chest, smashing through the chestplate of his armor and throwing the villain across the battlefield!
"Hey! That was a pretty sharp attack technique there!" Akira declared to the Earth fighter Kenji. "Mind if I try?"
"Be my guest, but don't be disappointed if you can't master it right off the bat," Kenji replied as he breathed heavilly, glad to be rid of the evil warrior Wei. "It takes years to learn that technique."
Akira assumed a kamehameha stance, poised to strike at Kuang, generating energy to fuel the attack! Kuang's scouter picked up the power increase, and he noted it with a nonchalant lack of concern!
"Kamehameha!" Akira shouted as he fired the blast at Kuang, surprising not only Kenji but also Kuang and Emiko, who still watched from her hiding place.
Kuang raised his power and swatted Akira's kamehameha blast aside, causing it to explode harmlessly in the distance! Kenji and Emiko seemed disappointed about the end result while Kuang seemed unimpressed, but Akira didn't seem too discouraged!
"Power level: eight thousand," Kuang thought to himself as he read the scouter's reading. "How did he survive our last encounter? He's not any stronger than before, at least, but I still don't understand how he survived! He should be dead!"
"That's amazing!" Kenji muttered aloud. "You learned the kamehameha wave just by watching me do it once! Too bad it wasn't enough to topple that bloated freak though!"
"Don't worry, friend," Akira said reassuringly. "Once I've mastered an attack, I can improve it substantially. My name is Akira. What's yours?"
"Kenji," the Earthman replied as he extended his hand for a handshake, and Akira responded by engaging him in a handshake. "Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too," Akira said as he turned his attention towards Kuang. "Now you go help those two out, and I'll take care of this guy. I owe him!"
"Uh, that's just one Namek there," Kenji said, confusing Akira momentarily. "He's using the splitform technique to fight two opponents at once."
"If I understand how that technique works, then he can't keep it up forever," Akira remarked matter-of-factly. "It really taxes one's energy reserves to maintain that technique for very long. You go lend him a hand while I take care of this guy!"
"You got it!" Kenji replied as he took flight to go to Yun's aid, leaving Akira to stand alone against Kuang.
"You'll rue this day, monkey!" Kuang snarled at Akira with disdain. "I'm twice as strong as you are! You're going to wish you'd died earlier!"
"I doubt it," Akira stated with an air of great confidence, glaring at the bulbous menace with a slight smile on his face.
"Oh, you're very full of yourself still, aren't you, monkey?" Kuang snarled as he widened his stance and tensed his muscles while clenching his fists. "Allow me to show you!"
With a drawn-out yell, Kuang began raising his energy for the battle! He was suddenly surrounded by a pale, flaming aura as small rocks, stones, and pebbles began rising from the ground, and strong winds began blowing out from his flaming energy aura in all directions! Akira just watched confidently as Kuang's power level skyrocketed! Kenji and the two Yun's suddenly turned their attention to Kuang, as did Cong and Feng as Cong's scouter registered Kuang's increasing power level!
"Unreal!" Kenji screamed out in a panic as he felt Kuang's energy rise higher and higher, and he trembled in total awe.
"There's no way!" Yun muttered aloud in complete disbelief. "I can sense his energy, and it's almost twice the power level of either me or this newcomer! The only way we can beat him is if I finish these two and help our new ally against him!"
In another dozen or so seconds, Kuang's power-up concluded with him at his maximum, and the side effects subsided. Cong's scouter registered Kuang's power level as Yun and his splitform partner rejoined in mid-air.
"Power level: fifteen thousand!" Cong cried out in appreciative awe. "Way to go, Kuang! Show that monkey who's boss!"
"Monkey?" Yun muttered in slight realization, still unsure of what was transpiring. "You mean, that guy's a Saiyan?"
"I'm impressed, my friend," Akira commented upon Kuang's power raising as he widened his stance, tensed his muscles, and clenched his fists. "Now, it's my turn!"
Akira began a drawn-out power-up yell as he began raising his energy level! Immediately, he was surrounded by a pale, flaming energy aura as powerful winds blew out from that aura in all directions, and small rocks, stones, and pebbles began rising from the ground! Kenji and Yun were amazed as they sensed the depths of Akira's power, and Cong and Kuang noted their scouter readings with incredulous disbelief!
"Unbelievable!" Yun muttered in stunned disbelief at what he was sensing from Akira. "His power level, it's enormous!"
After about ten seconds, Akira had maxed out and stopped raising his energy, and the side effects subsided. Kuang and Cong couldn't believe their scouter readings. Yun and Kenji were incredulous, but Feng was bewildered as to what everyone else was realizing.
"Power level: sixteen thousand!" Cong screamed in abject disbelief, causing even Feng to react with horror. "There's just no way!"
"How is that possible for you to become so strong?!?" Kuang cried out in disbelief at the Saiyan warrior. "You're just a monkey!"
"You must not know very much about Saiyans," Akira rebuked the incredulous villain calmly. "We get stronger after every battle, especially after recovering from a serious injury or a near-death experience. You guys almost killed me the last time we fought, but I recovered ... and stronger than before. Now I'll show you what a Saiyan can really do!"
Suddenly, Feng charged Akira from behind, but Akira heard his battle cry as he approached! Akira sidestepped the brute's charge almost effortlessly, and the brute barely managed to stop his own momentum to turn around and face Akira! Akira hammered Feng with a devastating kick to the face, knocking him backwards a great distance, and then he fired a powerful kamehameha wave into the hurtling juggernaut! There was an explosion, larger than most of the earlier explosions produced in that battle, and everyone was amazed at the power he displayed! When the smoke cleared, bits of wiring and circuitry lay scattered across the landscape, the last remains of the hulking warrior falling to the ground like rain!
"An android!" Yun replied in realization. "That's why I couldn't sense his energy! Androids don't generate energy in the same fashion that we do!"
The villains gasped in horror at that display of power, but Akira remained resolute in his confident demeanor while casting his gaze once again upon Kuang. Kuang grimaced in a mixture of anger and concern as he engaged the Saiyan in a staredown.
"Now the Namek can focus on the one opponent while I take care of you!" Akira declared to Kuang with confidence.
"The name's Yun, and thanks," Yun called out to Akira as he turned his attention towards Cong and prepared to fight.
"My name's Akira, and you're welcome," Akira replied, not turning his attention away from Kuang as he assumed a fighting stance, prompting Kuang to do the same.
Akira and Kuang closed on each other with suddenness, and they engaged each other in a furious flurry of hand-to-hand techniques! Kenji watched in amazement at the two superpowers as they fought! Meanwhile, Yun engaged Cong in a similar battle of epic proportions, rivaling the clash between Akira and Kuang on a less impressive scale!
Kuang found himself struggling to keep up with the restored Saiyan's improved power and skill, and Akira seemed to be more at ease in this battle, having but a single foe to face! Kuang roared in his frustrated rage, grimacing as he exerted himself even more in an effort to take down his Saiyan adversary! Akira focused himself a bit more on his fight with Kuang, meeting the intensity level of the bloated fiend without as much effort!
Meanwhile, Yun was begining to take control of his clash with Cong! Cong struggled with everything he had to match the Namek warrior's skill and power, but Yun was too skilled a foe for him to keep up with! Yun began pummeling Cong at will with resounding shots to the face and torso, and Cong was helpless against the superior skills of his opponent! After several seconds of that clash, Yun punted Cong skyward and yelled as he released an energy blast from his mouth! The blast quickly caught up with Cong and exploded upon impact! The evil warrior fell from the sky and crashed to the ground motionless, his armor pulverized but his scouter still intact! He lay prone on the ground, bleeding from the mouth and face! Yun looked down upon the defeated warrior with satisfaction!
At that moment, Jiani appeared in their midst. She appeared next to Shude's prone form, and she placed her hands upon him. The glow from her hands washed over him as she healed his body and restored his strength. While she was doing that, the young Zephyrrian Yifu arrived on the scene via his flight power, and he landed on the ground where Jiani was healing the mighty warrior Shude.
"Shude!" Yifu cried out as the mighty warrior stood up once again. "I felt your energy drop, and I was scared for the worst, big brother!"
"Yifu, I told you not to come here!" Shude admonished the youth with a somewhat gentle rebuke. "You must go quickly before this battle intensifies any further!"
Kenji and Yun landed next to the assembly as Emiko finally reached their position after climbing off the top of the butte. She seemed miffed about something, and she was glaring at Kenji. Jiani stood up, now the focus of much attention.
"You left me up on there on purpose, didn't you!" Emiko shouted at Kenji, intimidating him in her anger.
"But I went to help this guy Yun against those those evil fighters!" he pleaded his case to her, petitioning for a reprive of his impending sentence.
"Yeah, I guess you deserve some leniency for finally acting like a hero," she replied to his plea with a softer, gentler tone, easing his anxiety.
"Who are you?" Yun inquired politely of Jiani, getting everyone's attention to the female Kai in their midst while the battle between Akira and Kuang raged on overhead.
"My name is Jiani, and I am a Kai," she answered the Namek calmly, impressing not only him but also the Zephyrrians. "Perhaps introductions are in order for us all."
"I am Yun, a Namek warrior trained in the great Namek fighting arts," Yun declared, taking the lead in the introductions.
"I am Shude, the greatest warrior of Zephyrr and a native Zephyrrian, and this is my younger brother Yifu," Shude said, introducing himself and his younger sibling.
"My name's Emiko, and I'm from Earth," Emiko introduced herself to the group with a pleasant smile and a charming demeanor.
"I'm Kenji, and I'm from Earth as well; and, no, I'm not related to her," Kenji said, implicitely indicating the lack of relations to Emiko. "There's another member to our little entourage. His name is Dr. Sakamoto, and he's back with the ship we came here in."
"The warrior who is fighting the big, knobby-bodied warrior is a Saiyan by the name of Akira," Jiani informed them pointing up at the battle. "He is the most noble-hearted and nice Saiyan I have ever bore witness to."
"Where?" Emiko inquired, looking all around the sky to see the Saiyan warrior of whom Jiani was speaking. "I can't see a thing! Where are they?"
"They're moving very fast, Emiko," Kenji explained to his fellow human adventurer. "They're moving so fast, your eyes can't follow their movements. You have to learn to sense their energy if you want to keep up with their movements!"
"Even if Akira wins this battle, the conflict is yet to be resolved," Jiani stated to them, causing them to be alarmed. "These fighters were elite fighters from among Frieza's forces, but they were merely subordinates to the one who has yet to reveal himself to us. He will be coming soon, and then the ultimate battle for the survival of us all shall begin in this place."
Everyone turned their attention back to the battle being waged across the heavens above them, even Emiko who couldn't follow the movements of the two fighters, and each of them said an earnest prayer that the Saiyan could win this battle so that they might all have a hope of defeating the master of the evil forces upon their planet. The fighting was fierce and furiously fast, and both fighters were putting on a tremendous display of fighting prowess. Hopeful eyes plead silent pleas for the mighty Saiyan's victory.
Can Akira defeat the mighty Kuang and gain retribution on behalf of his fallen teammates from the earlier clash with Kuang's troops, or will the lone Saiyan warrior fall to their fate himself? If he does win, will he be able to aid the others against the dreaded master of the minions they have been battling? What other horrors will this dreaded evil lord of the fighters they've battled thus far bring with him into this conflict when he finally does arrive? Can this handful of hopeful heroes really save the planet of Zephyrr from the forces of Frieza? The answers to these and other questions are answered in Chapter 7 of the Zephyrrian Saga!
