January 7, 2004 part2:: This info from www.cmxvision.com, B2K mentioned this site on 106 and park today. Here it is:: Posted January 5, 2004-- According to reports, hip-pop act B2K had disbanded for undisclosed reasons, but those claims may be partially incorrect. The group's former manager Chris Stokes had publicly claimed that the group broke up, but now it turns out that the majority of the group have merely broken ties with him.:: AD :: In a statement, Stokes said, "I'm very, very sad. I did not know about this at all. I'm just as suprised as you all are. I've just seen the pictures of them signing with CMX [management] myself. Me, Omarion, and Marques Houston are totally shocked. No one person broke up B2K. They are like my sons, and I can't understand how, or why they would do this, but if the boys can hear my voice now, I want them to know that I love them and I wish them the best. Plus, I am surprised because they are still under contract with me." JOIN CMX and see the B2K LIVE Interview in 10 Days! However, if the group is under contract with Stokes, they may have undergone changes including Omarion going solo since he wasn't seen signing the new deal. The group officially signed with CMX Management on Saturday January 3 at an undisclosed location in Las Vegas. If the group has unraveled , it's been pretty rapid. All members of B2K, ATL, Bow Wow, and Lil Zane all performed at the Atlanta Civic Center on December 28 and a number of other shows. However, a New Year's Eve show in Philadelphia was cancelled, which may have further fueled the alleged break-up. Officials at Sony Music, B2K's label, didn't immediately respond to inquires by BET.com. According to a press release Omarion and brother Marques Houston will continue to be managed under Stokes' T.U.G. Management. "[B2K and T.U.G.] had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies. The kids are growing up and are interested in pursing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers," Stokes said. "B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed." January 7, 2004::B2K is on 106 and Park today and this is what they had to say(article from bet.com):: Posted January 7, 2003-- J Boog and Lil' Fizz of B2K called into "106 & Park" last night to directly address the B2K break-up. Raz B was in transit on an airplane and wasn't able to partake in the exclusive interview. But J Boog and Lil' Fizz explained to Free that they lost Omarion as a member when they changed management companies from T.U.G. Management, which is owned by Chris Stokes and Marques Houston. "Before we get too far into it the group didn't break up. The thing is three of us...me, Raz B and Lil' Fizz we left Chris Stokes as far as management and Omarion decided to say with Chris and we decided that B2K will not work if he stays with Chris," said Lil' Fizz leaving the door open for their departed brethren. "If Omarion chooses to leave him and come over here with us, there will be more B2K records, more albums" J Boog told Free. "Omarion will get it and he has the [choice] to either stay over there and be raped or come over here with us and be B2K." The pair said that they were stunned that their trust was violated after doing their own investigation into the financial records and background of Stokes. "As far as the group [breaking up] it had nothing to do with the group as far as our relationships, it just has to do with us being young in this business and jumping into it head first and putting all of our trust into this man [Stokes]," J-Boog explained. "We thought we were building a relationship of trust and so-called honesty but now that we've gotten older we see it wasn't that way now. We started hearing rumors about this man's reputation, we ain't believe it at first because we were like this is our family but now that we're older we're like this is not adding up. But we did our research and it came out to be true, that's unfair business we feel like we've been raped." With Omarion being the younger brother of Marques Houston, he has opted to go with his older brother, but the others said such family ties weren't extended to them. "There is no family to be honest, being that Chris Stokes, Marques Houston ...they're all owners of TUG therefore everything that goes thru Marques knows about it. It was basically us being taken advantage of and saying we weren't going to be taken advantage of any longer." Despite their claims, the group didn't want to go into detail about the financial disparities with T.U.G., but they promised to reveal more in a live appearance on "106 & Park" tonight. "We don't want to get into detail, we got to come through there so we can sit down and talk to ya'll we'll come tomorrow, I don't want to get all deep into it across the phone," the pair said. With their movie debut approaching, the trio of B2K stated that they would continue to promote "You Got Served" as they would under normal conditions. "We're going to handle it professionally. We're business men we're actors and we're going to go support our movie we're not going to go be ignorant about the situation and handle it in a ghetto fashion," said Lil' Fizz. Stay tunned for more!! January 4, 2004:: Today I found some pics of Raz, Jboog and Fizz supposedly signing a contract with CMX Management on January 9, 2004. There is a link to the pictures on the left>>> So check that out. I will keep you posted with everything I find out! I also know that Doug Banks (Host of the Doug Banks Morning Show on Power 92 in Chicago) has a powerful announcement about B2K, so stay tunned.. What does Chris have to say about this: "I'm very, very sad. I did not know about this at all. I'm just as suprised as you all are. I've just seen the pictures of them signing with CMX myself. Me, Omarion, and Marques Houston are totally shocked. No one person broke up B2K. They are like my sons, and I can't understand how, or why they would do this, but if the boys can hear my voice now, I want them to know that I love them and I wish them the best. Plus, I am suprised because they are still under contract with me. I love all of you and all of the fans out there. Please pray for B2K...." -Chris Stokes January 1, 2004::It is OFFICIAL, B2K has broken up. This news is brought to you on December 31, 2003 by WGCI in Chicago. However, they didn't say why. Chris Stokes called Power 92 in Chicago on January 1, 2004, and said it is official. But he did make it clear that it was not over money or one particular boy in the group. Chris said its not like a Destinys Child break-up. He said they all were having personal problems. He also said that through out the week there will be more press released from the boys themselves. There is more bad news, Omari is in the hospital with a spinal injury and Stokes said he may have to have surgery. He did not say how or why Omari got this injury, he just wants people to pray for him. On the brighter side, Chris said Omari will have a solo album out in February 2004, and this summer Omari, Oryan and Marques Houston will be touring together with Omari headlining "The Brother's Tour". While Fizz is set to release his soon. It is in talks that J-boog and Raz B will have their own solo albums as well. However they are dealing with business problems as to see if Chris can still manage the boys separately, he said they are like sons to him. To my Chicago people, DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR TICKETS TO THE CONCERT! I repeat: DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR TICKETS TO THE CONCERT! Power 92's the Hot Boyz are in the works with planning something very special, since Chris said there will be no show on January the 4th. Stay tuned for more info brought to you by the Princess and Power 92. I have the interview on here for every one to listen. Stay locked!
