Love it
things that i give mucho credit to.
Leave it
What were they thinking?
Love it or Leave it?
Vegetarianism
The more I work on becoming a vegetarian, the more I gain respect for the people who can do it. After reading the book "Animal Liberation" by Peter Singer, I have learned the evils associated with the meat market and the benefits of avoiding it in our diets. I currently eat seafood products while eliminating all other forms of meat, but one day I hope to eliminate that as well.
The Donnas
With a hit song that declares "I just want to french kiss you" amongst a clamour of the guitar, one really has to wonder. What were they thinking? People only like them because they are "unique" and are not similar to every other band out there. They make me ill because they have no talent.
Harry Potter
The Harry Potter novels are perhaps the best books I have ever read in my life. They are original, funny, and deep. They are for all ages, and I actually think the newest one has many underlying plots that appeal to adults. They will not be a trend that will soon be gone, since the newest book sold millions of copies and the movies continue to top the charts.
False Patriotism
The word "false" here means that I don't believe that people would have thought the same way before September 11, 2001. I agree that a huge event like that could definitely bring together a nation, and I am not opposed to American Pride. I just think the whole commercialism behind it is 100% fake. I mean, come on, do we really need to sell American flag underwear?
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
These two are great role models for relationships everywhere. Early on, Jessica made it known that she was going to wait until marriage to have sex, and proved that it can be done. They are one celebrity couple that never had all the drama of the others. They were devoted to each other, and I think their relationship will last a long time.
Being a "Punk"
Magazines continue to encourage  teens to become "punk" by including fashion ideas and stories about punk bands. The punk movement seems to me to be an extension of "pop" music and culture. Ever punk band sounds the same, and encouraging people to be "individuals" through dressing like a punk takes away the entire concept of individualism.
My opinion of pop culture.
