There is a town in the World of mortals. They have made light of the gods and stopped worshiping them. The lord becomes angry and sends the Prince of darkness to attack the mortal world....

The people, used to peace fall easily under the demon army.

You, the hero, are a wander swordsman. You see a town being attacked by an evil demon army. Naturally you lend your talents. One night you sneak into the demon army's camp. There you defeat the Prince of Darkness in personal combat.

The Prince of Darkness ask you why you fight for these people, these fools. You know no answer.

The King gives you a place to live and grants you a salery. One night you feel drawn outside by a shooting star. Inside of the star there's a little girl. Her guardian (depending on when her birthday is) asks you to care for her, to give a good life. Don't smear her with the dirt of the mortal world.....
