Chapter 9

All eight walked into the dinner hall, but it wasn't what they had expected.  They expected it to be like a high achool cafeteria, serving pizza and hamburgers almost everyday, but it was the total opposite.  It looked like a food court in a mall and almost every country was represented.  There were so many choices they couldn't decide what to eat.
"Hey, Kylee, lets go to that stir-fry place," Lindsey said pointing to a japanese-style stand.
"Sounds great," Kylee said turning to face the group.  "Why don't we meet back here after we get out food?"
"Okay," Dan said as they went their seperate ways.
When  they returned to the tables they agreed to meet at, they quickly covered the table with all sorts of dishes from around the world.  It was as if they were having their own feast.  Of course, they couldn't resist trying out each other's food since it all looked delicious.  Looking delicious and tasting delicious were two different things as they quickly found out.  Some of the food was out right nasty and they ended up throwing it away, but most of the food tasted pretty good.  When they were done eating, it felt as though were going to burst.
"I think I hit my calorie count for the day," Crystal said rubbing her stuffed stomach, not able to move anything else.
"You guys have a calorie count?" Rusty asked kind of shocked.
"You don't think we stay this fit eating burgers and fries do you?" Crystal said crossing her arms.
"No, I guess we keep forgetting you're athletes, too," Dan said trying to get into a comfortable postition.
"I guess that's why people think we're all, like divas and snobby and stuff like that?" Kylee said leaning over the table.  "People don't view us as athletes because dancing isn't really considered a sport."
"But we hope to change all that while we're at the Olympics,"  Lindsey said sitting up straight so her food would digest quicker. "and maybe one day it will become an Olympic sport."
"I don't see why it's not an Olympic sport,"  Apolo said.  "I mean it Ice Dancing is a Winter Olympic Sport than regular dancing should be a Summer Olympic Sport?"
"We have no idea,"  Kylee said shrugging her shoulders.  "Anyways, we're not worried about that.  We're just going to have fun while we're here.  We can't wait to try out some of the different sports they've got us schedule for."
"You guys get to try out sports?"  Shani asked surprised.
"Yep, we get to practice with the athetes, we kind of have to," Kylee said.  "and I think we're going to do short track saturday morning."
"It's going to be hilarious watching Kylee skate,"  Lindsey said laughing as the other girls joined in while the guys just went along with it, not knowing why they were laughing.
"Shut up," Kylee said throwing a napkin playfully at Lindsey.  "Well, it's kind of hard to find an ice rink in Hawaii."
"Yep, I was born there, but my family moved to LA when I was ten," Kylee explained.
"Well, don't worry about your skating, I'm sure we can teach you how to skate in no time,"  Apolo said smiling and winking at her as Shani's phone rang.
"Hello...hey coach...oh okay....we'll be there in a little bit," Shani said putting the his phone back on his belt clip.  "I'm sorry to cut this short, but we need to get back to the house."
"Hey, no prob," Lindsey said.  "We have to head back there anyway."
They made there back to the house. It was much more crowded then it was when they first went into the dinner hall.  When they got to the entrance of the house, they said their good-byes as the guys went inside while the ladies were bombarded by athletes who wanted pictures take with them, which they were more than happy to do.
