| Chapter 5 After a three and a half hour flight, the Dance USA dancers had finally arrived at Salt Lake City, there home for the next three weeks. After they claimed their baggages, they were quickly whisked off in vans to the Athlete's Village, which was actually the dorms of the University of Utah. When they arrived at the Athlete's Village, it was like a ghost town. Only a handful of maintance workers were outside working on the finishing touches of the deocrations that were placed outside the houses of the different countries. Each building was covered with decorations from every cuontry that was competing in the Olympics. As they drove farther into the village, they saw the houses of other countries like China, Japan, and the powerful Russian House. They immediately recognized the USA House. It has covered with red, white bule, stars, strips, many patriotic symbols, and there was a big sign that hung outside they door. On it, in big red, white, and blue letter, USA HOUSE!!! The vans stopped in front of the house and all the dancers and their coaches started to unload their stuff from the vans. "Home sweet home," Lindsey exclaimed breathing in a breath of cold, fresh Utah air. "It looks pretty cozy," Crystal said scanning the outside of the house. "The heaters better be working in there," Kylee said shivering as she put on a bulky jacket. "Hey, you guys want to help me, please?," Karen said already unloading their stuff and putting it onto the ground. "Sorry, Kar," Crystal said picking up a few bags and suitcases as the other girls followed. "Why would you want heater when we have all these hot guy athletes to keep us warm?" Lindsey said smiling as she put a large bag over her shoulder and then walking towards the front door. "I swear, we can't take you anywhere without you thinking about guys," Crystal said jokingly as she opened the door as they all walked in and approached the front desk. "Hi, we're the Dance USA dancers," Kylee said to the woman behind the desk. "Ah, yes, we've been expecting you," the woman said typing something in on a nearby keyboard. "Here is your room assignments and a couple of rules to abide by while you are here,' she aid handing each of them a stack of papers. "And here are your keys to your rooms. We hope you enjoy your stay and if there's anything you need don't hesitate to ask." "Thank you," Kylee said as she looked at her room assignment. "Hey, Crystal, we get to be roomies." "And we get to be roomies," Lindsey said to Karen. "And we're right next to you guys. This is going to be awesome." The ladies made their way upstairs. Since all thrity girls were assigned on the sixth floor, they decided to take the elevator. Their coaches were put in a competely different wing of the building, which was fine by the girls. No supervision meant more fun. The elevators were pretty slow as they made their way up to the sixth floor. When they finally got to their floor they spread out to find their rooms. Lidsey, Kylee, Crystal, and Michelle's rooms were kind of secluded from the rest of the rooms. It was in the corner farthest away from the elevator, but closest to the bathroom. Kylee and Lindsey took out their keys and opened their doors at the same time. Inside there was two of everything; two beds, two desks. two closets, two chairs, and two bookshelves. The room overall was kind of small and cramped, but it wasn't like they were going to spend muc time in their rooms anyway. With all the appearances, practices, and performances, they would probably just have enough time to change outfits and sleep in their rooms. "I'm so exhausted," Lindsey said barging into Kylee and Crystal's room and laying on one of the beds as Karen layed next to her. "How about this?" Karen began. "We put everything away later and lay down and sleep." "Sounds good to me," Kylee said as she collapsed on the other bed with Crystal lying beside her. They all fell asleep quickly, only to be waken up fifteen minutes later for the first of many practices at their new home. Chapter 6 Never had a Dream Come True Homepage Home |
