| Ok, so the story goes like this. 50 years ago, a half dog-demon name Inu Yasha was pinned to a tree in suspended animation by his ex-lover Kikyo. Kikyo was a priestess in her time and was the only known protector of the Shikon Jewel, otherwise known as The Jewel of Four Souls. This magic jewel will grant any wish that the beholder would want. Many demons were after this jewel, Inu Yasha being one of them. He wanted to use the jewel to become a full demon. But while attempting to steal it, he began to fall for the girl. (Heh, doesn't this sound so familiar?) Later in the story, Kikyo is tricked into believing that her beloved Inu Yasha is really playing her for the jewel. "He" attacks her and steals the jewel. Then she comes after him and puts a curse on him. 50 years later, Kagome, the reincarnation of Kikyo (from present day Japan) falls from the bone eaters well in her families' shrine and comes to the fuedal era of Japan. Kagome finds that she holds the jewel in her own body. The jewel is extracted and shatters into thousands of tiny pieces. Kagome and Inu Yasha must now piece together the Shikon Jewel and protect it from demons. Heh, easier said then done. Again, while the adventure unfolds, Inu Yasha falls for the protector of the jewel. |
