NARRATOR: *shadow melendar comes at you with a shadow scimitar now*
NARRATOR: (add on your 9 hit points)
CIMORENE: (Doing so)
CIMORENE: (Woohoo! I'm only Wounded!)
NARRATOR: (nice, btw what's your defense?)
CIMORENE: (Looking that up too)
CIMORENE: (12)
CIMORENE: (Or do I add something for the armor?)
NARRATOR: (you add nothing for defense besides 10+nimbleness mod)
CIMORENE: (ok, 12)
NARRATOR: *one hit connects*
NARRATOR: *16 damage*
CIMORENE: (....ok, NOW I'm in incapacitated again)
NARRATOR: *he misses twice*
CIMORENE: (He gets three attacks?!)
NARRATOR: Melendar:Destroy this vile fiend defasing me!
NARRATOR: (willpower test)
CIMORENE: (13)
CIMORENE: (*is writing on her new character sheet*)
NARRATOR: *you feel the small fear from this demon leave you*
CIMORENE: (woohoo!)
NARRATOR: (swiftness test)
CIMORENE: (10)
NARRATOR: *take 4 fire damage*
NARRATOR: *your ankles are burning*
CIMORENE: (damned cloak)
NARRATOR: (armor doesn't absorb that btw)
CIMORENE: (gotcha)
NARRATOR: (you're up)
CIMORENE: *she snarls, raising her arms and summoning all her remaining strenghth* I will..... NOT.... let you.... kill me..... Russe tuulo moriloomir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NARRATOR: (what's it mean cutie;-))
CIMORENE: (Lightning)
NARRATOR: (nice, roll for stamina...)
CIMORENE: (13)

CIMORENE: (eat it, shadow thing)
NARRATOR: (barely passed btw)
CIMORENE: (*shrugs* I rolled a 20)
NARRATOR: (you actually got an 8)
CIMORENE: (why?)
NARRATOR: (weariness;-) lightning will do it very fast)
CIMORENE: (Beautful)
NARRATOR: (damage?)
CIMORENE: (22)
NARRATOR: (wow)
NARRATOR: *it still lives*
CIMORENE: (damn it)
NARRATOR: *not by too much, it seems*
CIMORENE: (DId that unlock an ability?)
NARRATOR: (yes)
NARRATOR: *you unlock wizards endurance*
CIMORENE: (And that does?)
NARRATOR: (ignore all weariness once a day, but afterwards it still accumulates)
NARRATOR: (swiftness test)
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: *3 more fire damage*
CIMORENE: (grrr)
NARRATOR: *it turns back into itself*
NARRATOR: (oh ya you're incapacitated)
NARRATOR: (stamina test or faint)
CIMORENE: (12)
NARRATOR: *you stay on your feet despite fighting to now*
CIMORENE: (great)
CIMORENE: (yours, right?)
NARRATOR: (Yes)
NARRATOR: *a flaming shadow lance hits you and the other misses*
NARRATOR: *14 damage*
CIMORENE: (..... I am one point out of Near Death)
NARRATOR: (how you doing?)
NARRATOR: (...)
CIMORENE: (wait!)
NARRATOR: (you're up)
CIMORENE: (Four ponts! Armor!)
NARRATOR: (3 points of armor)
NARRATOR: (swiftness test now)
CIMORENE: (boxcars)
NARRATOR: *4 more fire damage*
NARRATOR: *you are really starting to kindle now...*
NARRATOR: (this could be your last turn so here you go)
CIMORENE: (oh dear)
CIMORENE: (*thinking fast*)
CIMORENE: (oh what the hell)
CIMORENE: *whacks him twice with her staff, putting everything she has into it*
NARRATOR: (swing on)
CIMORENE: (one boxcars.... so that's 23 and 10.... so that's 19)
NARRATOR: (and the other?)
CIMORENE: (No, one I rolled boxcars, the other I rolled ten. The totals are 23 and 19)
NARRATOR: (oh okay then and with all negatives?)
NARRATOR: (that'd be one hit then)
CIMORENE: (yup)
CIMORENE: (does it do full damage because it was boxcars?)
NARRATOR: *you strike it with your staff and as you do the thing screeches so much that everyone must cover their ears. The wailing subsides as the shadow that it was dispearses*
NARRATOR: *the lighting around goes brighter again*
CIMORENE: *she cries out and shields her eyes from the light*
NARRATOR: *melendar comes up to you*
NARRATOR: Melendar:Are you alright?! Are you harmed?
NARRATOR: *he looks about ready to kill*
CIMORENE: *she looks at him and smiles, her voice hoarse* Is is dead?
NARRATOR: Mundin:*walks up to you*Yes, I feel it has gone for good.
CIMORENE: Good.... *she collapses*
NARRATOR: (like unconciously? )
CIMORENE: (She's one point into near death)
NARRATOR: (wow, that was way too close)
NARRATOR: *you gain 3 courage*
CIMORENE: (Wow, I'm at full courage)
NARRATOR: *you gain 1 renown*
NARRATOR: (what is it at now?)
CIMORENE: (8)
NARRATOR: (wow, it's getting up there now)
CIMORENE: (no kidding)
NARRATOR: (on with the game then?)
CIMORENE: (indeed)
NARRATOR: *you wake up in Igiwi's hut*
CIMORENE: *she groans*
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*looking down at you*The great wizard awakes.
CIMORENE: *blinks at Igiwi and smiles a little* Not a great wizard....
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Considering you are the only one i've ever met, I would call you the greatest.
CIMORENE: *she blushes a little* What happened?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:After you lost conciousness, Melendar and I brought you back here and using our collective knowledge we healed you. Melendar discovered some interesting plants I did not know of to heal you. He would not tell me how he knew...*goes distant a moment*. But you are healed quite well now*smiles*.
NARRATOR: *you are now only 1 point from being dazed*
CIMORENE: *she sits up slowly* And the shadow-mimic?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:That thing vanished into thin air and the Elder says it to be dead. The interesting part of the tale was that we believe it to be one of our own men...
CIMORENE: What?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*intrigued at his own words*You see we walked back with only 24 of the 25 men we brought with us.
CIMORENE: *she narrows her eyes a little* Hmmmm....
NARRATOR: Igiwi:If this is true, then it knew just when to surprise you.
CIMORENE: Which would explain why it was so ready for us
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*happy again*But enough of that. You have proven yourself to be quite capable indeed and the Elder says that our time will be over any day. So I ask you what are you prepared to do?
CIMORENE: *she just looks at him* Huh?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:You do believe yourself to be the one prophesized, do you not?
CIMORENE: I suppose I have to now, eh?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:You don't have to do anything, Cimorene. I am asking what your plans are is all. You have proven yourself to us now.
CIMORENE: *she sighs* I have to find the Blue wizards...
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Then I suggest you be on your way. It won't be safe here much longer
CIMORENE: Why?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*surprised*Because the Elders prophecy will come true any day now.
CIMORENE: Then I'm not leaving
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*puzzled*Why not? You have a job given to you already I thought?
CIMORENE: I do.... but I owe the nice armorer some money for some lovely boots....
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*smiles*I'm sure that can be arranged. Just show me which pair you wanted and I can have it for you.
CIMORENE: I can't ask that. I have money
NARRATOR: Igiwi:But your money is no good here
CIMORENE: *shrugs* I'll find a way... *she stands, groggily, and checks her robes to see how damaged they are*
NARRATOR: *your cloak is burned to a capri sort of look. Your ankles have some light burn marks on them*
NARRATOR: *your purple cloak is fine*
CIMORENE: *she smiles a little, then glances for bloodstains as she asks* What day is it?
NARRATOR: (ugh...)
NARRATOR: Igiwi:It is tuesday. One day has passed since your confrontation.
CIMORENE: (lol)
CIMORENE: A whole day? Where's the Elder? Where's Melendar? Is the town all right? Did we get them all?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:The Elder is in the tower in a meeting which Melendar is attending. The town is fine at the moment and defenses are being made ready. "Them all"? Who do you mean?
CIMORENE: Any more of those shadow things?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:We cannot be sure.
CIMORENE: *is already donning her purple cloak*
NARRATOR: Igiwi:There is no real way to spot them, it seems.
CIMORENE: *ties her cloak on and reaches for her staff* Are they at the Elder's tower?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:The shadow people? I cannot be certain. I doubt it.
CIMORENE: *she laughs softly* I mean the Elder and Melendar
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Yes, but you cannot interrupt them while they are meeting.
CIMORENE: What are they meeting about?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:I am not told
CIMORENE: Hmmm.... *she shrugs* Well, what are you doing right now?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:I was waiting for you to awaken and planning my next course of action.
CIMORENE: Would you help me a moment?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:What did you want?
CIMORENE: *her eyes twinkle* I want those boots.... but I need someone who knows the local dialect
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*wry smile*Just show me which pair and i'll have them for you.
CIMORENE: *smiles* I want to buy them. Please?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*rolls his eyes*Lets go and we'll see what we can do.
CIMORENE: *she grins and hugs him impulsively before heading outside*
NARRATOR: *he isn't really responsive to that*
CIMORENE: *she heads straight back to that armor shop, her robes and hair swinging*
CIMORENE: *and enters, calling out in Sindar* Hello?
NARRATOR: keeper:Hello again
CIMORENE: *she smiles brightly* Did you save my boots?
NARRATOR: keeper:No I sold them
CIMORENE: *her happy smile fades completely* Oh.... well..... uumm.... *she lowers her head a moment, then looks back up* Do you have any cloaks then? regular, brown cloaks?
NARRATOR: keeper:We still have 3 other pairs of those boots
CIMORENE: *she shakes her head a little* No..... I'll just take a cloak. Thanks...
NARRATOR: keeper:*sad about the boots now*Why certainly we can get you a cloak.
CIMORENE: *she smiles at him* Don't fret about those boots, sir. There was just something about them... but I'm sure a lovely new cloak will make up for it. *holds her pitifully burned cloak up* My last one had an accident
NARRATOR: Keeper:*smiles*I have just the one I believe. *he goes into a backroom to find something*
CIMORENE: Igiwi.... maybe you can help me think up something to barter with
NARRATOR: Igiwi:What do you have with you?
CIMORENE: My cloak, some gold, silver, and copper coins... a necklace.... and some food
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Well perhaps giving him handfulls of your money will be useful to him fashioning a weapon or armor from it.
CIMORENE: hmmm
CIMORENE: Gold isn't tradeable here?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:It is, but it is not money here
NARRATOR: *the keeper comes back*
NARRATOR: Keeper:*holds out a brown cloak*Here we are
CIMORENE: *she smiles and takes it, putting it on to test the size*
NARRATOR: *it seems almost comfortable*
NARRATOR: *just under being comfortable*
CIMORENE: *she smiles and takes it off, folding it on her arm* Now... I have none of your currency.... all I have are gold, sliver, and copper coins....
NARRATOR: keeper:Right...
NARRATOR: (you're up)
CIMORENE: And a silver necklace... *she holds it up. It's almost an exact duplicate of the silver and amethyst pendant around her neck, but with a large opal in the center of the chain*
NARRATOR: keeper:*motions to the necklace*may i see that?
CIMORENE: *she nods and hands it to him*
NARRATOR: *he inspects it quickly and thouroughly*
CIMORENE: (elven silver necklace)
NARRATOR: keeper:*excited*I'll sell you the cloak and a pair of those boots for this in a hearbeat.
NARRATOR: keeper:Do you accept?
CIMORENE: Hmmmm.... make it a cloak and a pair of good black men's boots and it's yours
NARRATOR: keeper:Are you certain?
CIMORENE: *nods* A gift for someone
CIMORENE: (insight test.... is he cheating me?)
NARRATOR: (now did you want a cloak and both pairs or jus the mens?)
NARRATOR: (i'm confused)
CIMORENE: (13)
CIMORENE: (The cloak and a pair of boots for melendar )
NARRATOR: (okay then let me check the tables on insight)
NARRATOR: *you can tell he isn't cheating you and in fact is happier with your re-aranged deal*
CIMORENE: *she smiles and nods at him* I'll take a good, sturdy pair of boots then, please
NARRATOR: keeper:We have an accord then. *puts the boots and cloak on the counter and looks towards you and your necklace*
NARRATOR: *igiwi just looks on*
CIMORENE: *she hands him the necklace with a smile and a wink* Indeed. I'll take these then *picks up her goods and looks at Igiwi* Thanks, Igiwi
NARRATOR: Igiwi:You're welcome*with a stupid smile on his face*
NARRATOR: *igiwi mutters something in gibberish at the keeper who mutters back on your way out*
CIMORENE: *raises an eyebrow a little, then can't help grinning* What did you say to him? *as she walks back towards his hut* And what are you smiling for?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:It's funny. You are so happy in the face of such odds around us. I only told him to have a nice day.
CIMORENE: *she is almost skipping along the road, carrying her new cloak. Her hair hangs loose and shining* It's a lovely day, and I didn't die. That should be enough for anyone!
NARRATOR: Igiwi:I suppose so. What a life you have Cimorene.
CIMORENE: *she grins at him* Life is life is life, my friend, and life is good,
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*with a souring expression*Yes, but not for much longer.
CIMORENE: *she stops and puts a hand on his shoulder* It will all work out.... I promise. I will not let this white city fall.
NARRATOR: (*rolls his eyes*)
CIMORENE: (lol)
NARRATOR: Igiwi:I hope you don't fail on that. Time grows short if you wish to do so, though. I have no idea what you would need to do to accomplish this. How does one person stop a "great host"?
NARRATOR: *it's a nice afternoon btw*
NARRATOR: *the clouds have let up a bit*
CIMORENE: *she shrugs as they walk* Try?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:That is a start
CIMORENE: *she chuckles* Do you think they're done with their meeting yet?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:I have no idea*he is somber now*
NARRATOR: Igiwi:You can go check if you like, i'm off home for a bit.
NARRATOR: (you're up)
CIMORENE: *she nods* Would you please lay these boots on Melendar's pack, and the cloak on mine?
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*takes the things*Of course. Expect me to be around this night.
CIMORENE: *she smiles at him* Thank you..... *heads for the Tower*
NARRATOR: *the climb is the same as ever*
NARRATOR: *upon reaching the stairs you see no guards posted*
NARRATOR: (i meant reaching the door)
CIMORENE: *she blinks, seeing no guards, then shrugs and knocks gently on the door*
NARRATOR: *a voice says "come in"*
CIMORENE: *she opens the door softly and strides in, glancing around* I can wait if you two aren't finished yet
NARRATOR: *there is only Mundin and Melendar in the room*
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to you*Hello Cimorene, I thought you would find me.
NARRATOR: Mundin:*to you*Melendar and I were just discussing stragegy against the comming threat
CIMORENE: *she raises an eyebrow a moment* And what makes you think I was looking for you, Melendar? *her tone is teasing* Do we even have any idea what this threat is yet?
NARRATOR: *melendar smiles*
NARRATOR: Mundin:All that I have seen is a great host that overruns us.
CIMORENE: A great host..... I hope it's not those shadow things
NARRATOR: Mundin:*his face full of grief at the thought*If it were, there would be no hope, but that is what you are supposed to be here for.*smiles*
CIMORENE: *she smiles back* By the way.... Igiwi mentioned that the thing may have been one of your men. Is that true?
NARRATOR: Mundin:Ah he may not be mistaken. We are missing a guard since your battle. We believe him to have been a spy.
CIMORENE: A spy for what?
NARRATOR: Mundin:the enemy
CIMORENE: *she nods* I see....What was his name?
NARRATOR: Mundin:Luin Ruth is what we know to be our enemy.
NARRATOR: *melendar nods*
CIMORENE: *her jaw drops before she can stop it* Luin Ruth?
NARRATOR: Mundin:Yes*confused*why?
NARRATOR: *melendar too is puzzled*
CIMORENE: *she composes herself* It's just.... that name means Blue (Thunder?)
NARRATOR: (blue anger)
CIMORENE: (Gotcha)
CIMORENE: Blue Anger...
NARRATOR: Mundin:I am well aware of the nature of our enemys name and it's bearing on myself.
CIMORENE: But that may mean that the other Blue Wizard leads them
NARRATOR: Mundin: I have often wondered that as well. My master, Alatar the Blue has been gone for a few years now.
CIMORENE: Well, maybe he didn't go too far
CIMORENE: *she think a moment* Is there a map of this city and the surrounding areas?
NARRATOR: Mundin:*suspicious*I think we should not be quick to blame my master with no evidence Cimorene.
NARRATOR: Mundin:There is something of a map but we have charted very little out from the city.
CIMORENE: *she shakes her head softly* I am blaming no one.... but I don't want to dismiss anythig either
CIMORENE: Wht lies around the city, then?
NARRATOR: Mundin:I can respect that.
NARRATOR: Melendar:*the mundin*Yes, what can we expect out there?
NARRATOR: Mundin:there is forest to the east and west till the plains. North is the mountains and south takes you to the river.
CIMORENE: *she thinks a moment* What is your plan so far?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to you*Cimorene. I think it's the mountain...*goes off into his own world*
NARRATOR: Mundin:*dismissing melendar*The plan so far is survival. We are to try to hold the city as long as is possible and when it falls, be able to escape and survive somewhere. It is not too hopeful of a plan but there should be survivors. *he looks grim, but determined*
CIMORENE: But we have no idea where they attack from or what "they" are
NARRATOR: Mundin:*sad*No we do not truly know what is in store.
NARRATOR: Mundin:Only that it should be.
CIMORENE: *she sighs* Well.... it seems to me that we need to have lookouts on the highest vantage point around. Is that the mountain? Perhaps someone can go stand watch up there and signal the city where and when to be ready for an attack?
NARRATOR: Mundin:Yes we have a small outpost in the sky for that.
CIMORENE: In the sky?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to you*I think I have to go to the mountain now.
NARRATOR: Mundin:Yes, up the mountain.
CIMORENE: *she blinks a few times at Melendar* What are you talking about?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*starts to leave*I have remembered a few items and I have to go back there to retrieve something.
CIMORENE: *grabs his arm* Wait!
NARRATOR: Melendar:*looks down at you restraining him*What is it?
CIMORENE: You;ve been acting strange since I woke up.... what's so important about the mountain?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*looks very very briefly at mundin*I don't have to tell you that. Only that I have unfinished business there. *with resolve and detrmination now*Yes, unfinished...
CIMORENE: *glances between the two men* Well, you're NOT going up there alone. Mundin, how many men are stationed up the mountain?
NARRATOR: Mundin:A few dozen.
CIMORENE: When's the last time you heard from them?
NARRATOR: Mundin:Yesterday. Unless of course, they are already dead.
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to mundin*I hope that not to be the case. In any case I must go and soon.
NARRATOR: Mundin:*to melendar*I understand but I advise against this. If you are what i've heard, we could use your help extremely.
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to mundin*I would only get in your way, you have to trust me on that Mundin.
NARRATOR: *mundin nods back*
CIMORENE: *she just looks at him for a moment* We have to make sure... If they are still there, then we will come back down. Until then, fortify the main gates, and get the women and children into some kind of shelter. Melender and I will scout up the mountain and send up a flare of violet light in the direction of their attack. All right?
NARRATOR: Mundin:That sounds perfectly fine
NARRATOR: Melendar:We are scouts now? Very well, for a time
CIMORENE: *she looks at Melendar, a strange look in her eyes as she nods* We leave now. Mundin... *she looks at him* Be safe....
NARRATOR: Mundin:May good be on your side.
NARRATOR: *melendar follows you*
NARRATOR: Melendar:We should say goodbye to Igiwi too before we leave.
CIMORENE: *she heads for Igiwi's house* We have to get our stuff anyway... *her voice seems distant and thoghtful, and she walks as if she doesn';t see the road*
NARRATOR: *you two elves arrive at the hut with Igiwi there as he said he would be cooking some dinner*
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Welcome back*with a smile*
NARRATOR: *the sun is beggining its descent*
CIMORENE: *she smiles back* We just came to say farewell and get our belongings
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*wistfully*I had a feeling this was what was to be.
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to igiwi*Thank you for your understanding
NARRATOR: *igiwi just nods*
CIMORENE: We're not leaving you alone, Igiwi. We're going up the mountain to scout out the outpost there and see if we can give you an early warning sign
NARRATOR: Melendar:Hey. Igiwi, thank you for the boots!
NARRATOR: Igiwi:There is a post up there already, Cimorene.
CIMORENE: *she blushes a little at Melendar's words, but doesn't comment on them*
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Going up the Orocarni will be a waste of both of your times. We could use you better here in the coming darkness.
CIMORENE: I know there's a post... but it doens't feel right... and Melendar says he's got to go up there
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to igiwi*No, I cannot say why. I cannot stay here now.
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*confused but still with you*Well you have both earned my trust and without a full explanation I will trust that you are doing the right thing.
NARRATOR: Igiwi:Are you certain you do not need one more nights rest?
NARRATOR: *melendar shrugs*
CIMORENE: *she nods* The swifter we go, the swifter we come back and stand with you, Igiwi.
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*smiles at the thought*I hope to draw swords with you two then in the great battle of our time.
NARRATOR: (my turn;-))
CIMORENE: (let this be the hour.... when we draw swords together....)
NARRATOR: (exactly)
CIMORENE: (lol)
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to you*Ready when you are Cimorene.
CIMORENE: *she grabs her pack and her new cloak, then turns to Igiwi* watch for the violet light.... over the tops of the mountains.... when it appears, draw arms and be ready.
NARRATOR: Igiwi:*nods an affirmative*I will be ready.
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to igiwi*I doubt this to be our last meeting*winks and goes off*
CIMORENE: *chases after him with a final wave to Igiwi, then whistles for Bard*
NARRATOR: *bard is ready now as well*
CIMORENE: *jumps onto him nad fastens the new brown cloak around her shoulders* Shall we, Melendar?
NARRATOR: Melendar:*with an older determined look*Yes indeed, take us out.
NARRATOR: (ride off?)
CIMORENE: *she gallops off*
CIMORENE: (Yeah, but she wants to talk a little when they stop for a rest)
NARRATOR: *so Cimorene the Violet and Melendar the Noldor embark on a journey to the top of a mountain*
NARRATOR: END
