NARRATOR: Pallando:Can anyone here sail?
NARRATOR: Melendar:Cimorene you are Sindar, are you not?
CIMORENE: *blinks quite a few times*
CIMORENE: (Can I sail?)
NARRATOR: (sea craft check)
CIMORENE: (6)
NARRATOR: *you barely feel confident*
NARRATOR: *the water is very slow and so are the winds*
CIMORENE: I can try.... but I'll most likely send us to the bottom
NARRATOR: Pallando:Do we even know where we are in these waters?
CIMORENE: *cracks her knuckles* I want to know more about this group. Others of our race could be in grave danger
NARRATOR: Pallando:*idea*I will fly above to see where to go...*goes off to find the eagle*
CIMORENE: That's a great idea!
NARRATOR: Melendar:I do appreciate your bravery but I would imagine we would be greatly outnumbered and most likely on a far less sturdy craft...
CIMORENE: true
CIMORENE: We should avoid this group and just go on to the city with no name
NARRATOR: Melendar:*sighs*Yes, that may be best
NARRATOR: (so you sail onward?)
CIMORENE: (attept to sail, yes)
NARRATOR: (well you rolled that 6)
CIMORENE: (*hangs head in shame*)
NARRATOR: *you sail on for the rest of the day pretty well with pallando keeping the craft on track with directions from high above*
CIMORENE: *has untied her hair and let it blow wildly in the wind*
NARRATOR: *you do so just in time as the wind actually picks up the next day*
NARRATOR: *sea craft check*
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: (recommend courage point)
CIMORENE: (just one? well worth it)
NARRATOR: *with faster winds you still seem pretty confident*
NARRATOR: *weather sense*
CIMORENE: (13)
NARRATOR: *you're predicting rain and soon*
CIMORENE: *shouts over to Melendar and Pallando* Rain a'comin, lads! *has fallen into sea-speak*
NARRATOR: *pallando decides to stay up for a bit longer*
NARRATOR: Melendar:*after adjusting sails as much as he can figure*How would we do to stop this?*sighs and starts chanting*
CIMORENE: (What the heck did he say?)
NARRATOR: (i'm not sure either?)
CIMORENE: (Wisdom to see what he's casting?)
NARRATOR: (k)
CIMORENE: (12)
NARRATOR: *power of the land*
CIMORENE: (Wow)
NARRATOR: *after a bit his spell goes off and as rain starts to fal l(*pallando lands*) a wind above the ship blows so hard that the rain blows away from the ship in all directions*
NARRATOR: *melendar seems very strained and in deep concentration*
CIMORENE: *concentrates hard on keeping the ship heading straight ahead* Pallando, any sign of shore?
NARRATOR: Pallando:*nods*but it is still maybe a few hours from here and I believe we are being followed by 2 ships.
NARRATOR: Pallando:*lowers his head some*They are gaining as well
CIMORENE: *She grits her teeth hard to keep from swearing and holds the wheel steady* Well, let's pray that the storm slows them down
NARRATOR: *sea craft*
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: (courage request)
CIMORENE: (just one?)
CIMORENE: (Consider it used..... I've only got one left)
NARRATOR: (you can barely get away with 1)
NARRATOR: *you manage to keep it steady and on course in the choppy water*
NARRATOR: *a half hour or so passes and melendar still keeps the rain at bay*
NARRATOR: Pallando:*from behind you*I think we have another problem...
CIMORENE: Pallando, see if you can find some rope to lash ourselves to the mast so Melendar can get some rest
CIMORENE: What's wrong?
NARRATOR: Pallando:If saw what I just did, we may have a large problem under the water...
CIMORENE: *looks at him with huge, frightened eyes* How large?
NARRATOR: Pallando:*shakes his head*I cannot tell, but I think it is large enough to be a problem. *goes to the side of the ship as if following something*
CIMORENE: *she groans* I can't leave the wheel or we'll go off course, Pallando. Is it a fish or a dragon?
NARRATOR: Pallando:*laughs uneasily at the comment*I think something in between
CIMORENE: Is it circling us?
NARRATOR: Pallando:*circling the ship*It appears to be sizing the ship up
CIMORENE: Wonderful...... *glances at Melendar, then sizes up the storm with Weather sense to see how long it will last*
CIMORENE: (12)
NARRATOR: *looks to be into tommorrow*
CIMORENE: (Great)
NARRATOR: (you guys could use a challange)
CIMORENE: *she swears softly in Elven* Melendar.... you cannot keep that up all night long. Rest.... we'll sail the ship through the storm.
CIMORENE: Unless.... Pallando, can you take over for him?
NARRATOR: *he shrugs and walks to the wheel uneasily*
NARRATOR: *melendar doesn't seem to hear you; his eye is closed even but you can tell he isn't dead, just concentrating*
CIMORENE: Pallando?
NARRATOR: *hes at the wheel*
NARRATOR: Pallando:I can try
CIMORENE: *she nods* Try it.... take the spell in shifts. We'll need both of you as fresh as you can get later
NARRATOR: *ships seems to wobble a bit more under the wizards care*
NARRATOR: *bursting out of the doors that lead below is a framiliar pretty elf*
CIMORENE: (Wait, what?)
NARRATOR: elf:Can I not get a moments peace?!
CIMORENE: *stares at the elf* What in the name of the Elders are YOU doing here?
CIMORENE: (Pallando is steering?)
NARRATOR: elf:*outraged by you*No, what are you doing here?!
NARRATOR: (he is steering, just not as well as you)_
CIMORENE: (lol..... Jon, I meant for him to take over for Melendar, not me)
CIMORENE: (ya know.... do the Power of the Earth spell so Melendar could rest)
NARRATOR: (oh...)
CIMORENE: (lol)
CIMORENE: (I was afraid you misread that)
NARRATOR: (ya i misunderstood)
NARRATOR: (i did)
NARRATOR: (she'll still come up though, you hit a wave....)
CIMORENE: (sounds good)
CIMORENE: I'm sailing this ship!
NARRATOR: elf:*see's melendar rest on the deck while pallando does the spell and runs to melendar and stops talking to you*Darling!
CIMORENE: *grips the wheel so hard that her fingerprints are embedded in it* Excuse me, miss, but that is MY darling you're being so familiar with!
NARRATOR: *melendar looks more than a little confused*
NARRATOR: elf:*turns back to you*You take that back! *goes towards some scimitar hilts*.
CIMORENE: Don't even think about it, little girl. Melendar is MY betrothed. There is nothing to take back
NARRATOR: Melendar:*grabs elf and restrains her immediately*We have no time for this
CIMORENE: *Cannot watch the girl, but watches the sea in front of her*
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to elf*You do... seem framiliar, however Cimorene speaks the truth.
NARRATOR: elf:*to melendar*What?! You cannot do this to me*screams*I should have left her to her fate!
CIMORENE: I have loved Melendar longer than you have known him, young lady. You cannot harm me with your words
NARRATOR: elf:*to you*If your muscle would let me, I would harm you with my actions*you can feel the hate in her words*
NARRATOR: elf:You witch; you've taken him from me
CIMORENE: What are you doing on this ship? WITCH?!
CIMORENE: I am so SICK of being called a witch!!
NARRATOR: *as the elf tries to explain the whole ship is rocked*
NARRATOR: *swiftness*
CIMORENE: (great...... 5)
NARRATOR: *you lose your balance and clatter to the floor*
CIMORENE: (just to the floor?)
NARRATOR: (you aren't like on the rail and you didn't fail by enough to like walk 5 feet and jump off the ship)
CIMORENE: (sounds good)
NARRATOR: *the wheel starts turning wildly*
CIMORENE: *struggles back to her feet, reaching to grab the wheel*
NARRATOR: *you see a tentacle come to the rail by you going for you*
NARRATOR: *initiative*
CIMORENE: (holy shit)
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: (wow fast kraken...)
CIMORENE: (Bloody kraken)
NARRATOR: *pallando comes out of his trance and gets up; rain pours onto the ship*
NARRATOR: Melendar:*to elf*Resolve this quarrel later!
NARRATOR: *melendar draws his blade and goes to the tentacle attacking you*
CIMORENE: (*cracks her knuckles*)
NARRATOR: (sorry just seeing how much hp a tentacle has)
CIMORENE: (not a problem)
NARRATOR: *melendar charges the tentacle threatening you and hacks it in half in 2 strokes*
CIMORENE: (I love my elf)
NARRATOR: *a swarm of tentacles come up and 1 attacks melendar, 1 pallando, 1 the elf, and 1 you*
NARRATOR: *1 hit on you for 17*
CIMORENE: (ouchies)
NARRATOR: *wow it actually misses melendar*
NARRATOR: *misses pallando*
NARRATOR: *hits elf girl*
NARRATOR: *the elf draws 2 scimitars and goes at her tentacle*
NARRATOR: *she manages to kill the big tentacle with multiple attacks*
NARRATOR: *cimorene's turn*
CIMORENE: *screams* No one be touching any live tentacles!!!!!!!!
CIMORENE: *grabs the nearest tentacle and casts Lightning directly onto the tentacle, which is slicked with rain*(23 to cast)
CIMORENE: *The spell, if it goes off, should travel down the wet tentacle to the actual creature.... water being a conductor of electricity*
NARRATOR: *i'll allow it, but not for instant death*
CIMORENE: (21 damage)
CIMORENE: (Understood)
NARRATOR: (roll to hit)
NARRATOR: (ranged attack)
CIMORENE: ((24)
NARRATOR: *hits*
NARRATOR: *the tentacle seems to still be alive*
CIMORENE: *staggers to her feet*
CIMORENE: (I'm done)
NARRATOR: *pallando finishes what you started with another lightning bolt*
CIMORENE: (whew)
CIMORENE: *grabs the wheel*
NARRATOR: *swiftness check first*
CIMORENE: (geez.... that died really easily)
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: (1 tentacle.. ya)
CIMORENE: (wait, what?)
NARRATOR: (it has 24)
CIMORENE: (OH! SCrew grabbing the wheel, then)
NARRATOR: *you are the only one to fall down as the ship rocks hard again*
CIMORENE: oof!
NARRATOR: *melendar hacks another tentacle down*
NARRATOR: *the elf girl follows suit*
NARRATOR: *will power test*
NARRATOR: (i just read it causes terror)
CIMORENE: (13)
NARRATOR: *passed*
NARRATOR: *you're hit by another tentacle for 19*
NARRATOR: *melendar and elf girl are also hit*
NARRATOR: *pallando blasts a bolt and takes one down*
NARRATOR: (actually no he doesn't)
NARRATOR: *he actually just injures it*
CIMORENE: (okies)
NARRATOR: *melendar kills again*
CIMORENE: (How many is that?)
NARRATOR: 17 to go
NARRATOR: *elf girl strikes again*
NARRATOR: *will power*
CIMORENE: (10)
NARRATOR: *pass*
NARRATOR: *you're hit for 13 damage*
CIMORENE: (are the tentacles coming from both sides, or just one side?)
NARRATOR: *all sides*
NARRATOR: *their reach is the whole ship*
CIMORENE: (So it's logical to assume that the thing is on the bottom of the ship, or do they seem to be reaching from a certain point?)
NARRATOR: (one logical conclusion)
CIMORENE: (My turn?)
NARRATOR: *everyone gets hit*
CIMORENE: NARRATOR: *everyone gets hit*
NARRATOR: *2 tentacles due to elf attack*
CIMORENE: (okies)
CIMORENE: (Who's up?)
CIMORENE: (strength check.....gods.... 10)
NARRATOR: *all the others get hit and seem a little worse for wear after this round*
NARRATOR: *pallando hits the tentacle with a bolt without thinking*
NARRATOR: *you take 15 lightning damage*
NARRATOR: *melendar cuts the tentacle free from you*
NARRATOR: *the elf kills another*
CIMORENE: (Does the tentacle have me?)
NARRATOR: (not anymore, but it's the krakens turn again)
CIMORENE: (But I didn't get to go)
NARRATOR: (really? my bad)
CIMORENE: (*double-checks* How many times should I have gone this fight?)
NARRATOR: (assume you're still held)
NARRATOR: (like 4)
CIMORENE: (I've only gone once)
NARRATOR: (no you've gone more than that)
CIMORENE: (All I did was the lightening bolt)
CIMORENE: (Are you checking it?)
NARRATOR: (ya you get 2 things)
NARRATOR: (i misread the rounds)
CIMORENE: (gotcha)
CIMORENE: *looks around at all her friends, and feels the unconsciousness begin to claim her. She grits her teeth and closes her eyes, chanting* Azaroth metrium sinthos.....
CIMORENE: (I'm one point into Incapacitated)
CIMORENE: *Her eyes fly open and she throws her head back and screams as she grips the tentacle tightly in her hands*
CIMORENE: (Transformation..... passed the test with a 15)
CIMORENE: (excuse me, 16)
NARRATOR: (it's a 15 to cast?)
CIMORENE: (yup)
NARRATOR: (you'll need a courage)
CIMORENE: (just one?)
CIMORENE: (Back)
NARRATOR: (k so you using the courage point?)
CIMORENE: (yes, please)
NARRATOR: (cast on)
CIMORENE: (holy crap......)
CIMORENE: *Transforms the damned thing into a carp.... a little carp)*
NARRATOR: (specify please miss caster)
CIMORENE: (please tell me you got that post)
CIMORENE: (Specify how?)
NARRATOR: (i hear you, but what are you turning it into?)
NARRATOR: (transform into what?)
CIMORENE: (A carp.... a fish. A fish smaller than my arm)
NARRATOR: *it seems to disapear into the water in a flash and you are unconcious without a test*
CIMORENE: (understood)
NARRATOR: (ya definetly)
CIMORENE: (Man..... AIM sucks tonight)
NARRATOR: (that's like 10 size categories)
NARRATOR: *you take 7 damage*
NARRATOR: (no armor on that)
CIMORENE: (understood)
CIMORENE: (Am I corrupted now?)
NARRATOR: (I wouldn't say that's an evil act at all)
CIMORENE: (But it's an evil spell)
CIMORENE: (read the description..... good people will hardly ever use it)
NARRATOR: (it doesn't overtly say it is sorcery)
CIMORENE: (Cool. Let's keep going!)
NARRATOR: (therefore it is my discretion on when it is evil)
NARRATOR: (moving along)
NARRATOR: *you wake up*
NARRATOR: *in chains*
CIMORENE: *sits up groggily and looks around*
NARRATOR: *you're in what seems to be a small wooden cell*
NARRATOR: *good sturdy wood, though and a small 1/2 ft by 1/2 ft bared peep hole on the door*
CIMORENE: *She looks through the peep hole* Where am I?
NARRATOR: voice:*from outside door*You're on the ship of your doom, we hope
CIMORENE: Who are you?
NARRATOR: voice:*modest*Just another man wanting to see a wonderful elf execution
CIMORENE: Where are my friends?
NARRATOR: voice:the girl is here too waiting her turn and the others are not on this ship
CIMORENE: Where are they?
NARRATOR: voice:*laughs some*You are the most picky prisoner i've ever had; they are, of course, on the other ship
CIMORENE: *she nods to herself* Are we to be drowned then, or are our bodies to be ravaged first?
NARRATOR: voice:ravaged?! Don't flatter yourself. Just a nice excecution. We all see our sport and we move along
NARRATOR: *your weapons and armor, and staff are not with you*
CIMORENE: *moves to the hole so she can see the man and any of his friends*
NARRATOR: *you are chained to the wall*
NARRATOR: (my bad)
CIMORENE: Are my friends still alive? What about the man? He's not an elf
CIMORENE: (ok)
CIMORENE: (SO I can't see anything?)
NARRATOR: voice:as far as I know that old man is talking to the comodore but the other is prisoner if he hasn't bled to death yet. *laughs* he just wouldn't let you go
NARRATOR: *you can see the wall across the hall*
CIMORENE: *feels her blood run cold*
CIMORENE: How long was I unconscious?
NARRATOR: voice:*guesses*an hour? maybe 2? *cynically*Thanks for the ship by the way. Too bad we had to kill your elf lover friend...
CIMORENE: What friend?
NARRATOR: (he refers to the other guy; the captain who took you on his ship)
CIMORENE: (ah)
CIMORENE: *she closes her eyes and says a silent prayer to the Valar for the dead, misguided soul*
NARRATOR: *gain 1 courage point*
CIMORENE: (awww)
CIMORENE: *She opens her eyes and casts Voice of COmmand*
CIMORENE: (cast with a 15)
NARRATOR: (with negs?
)
CIMORENE: (yup)
NARRATOR: (keep in mind you don't have your staff powers for casting now)
CIMORENE: (ooooooo)
CIMORENE: (So that's another minus 2, right?)
NARRATOR: (ya)
CIMORENE: (It's still cast)
CIMORENE: (It's a 13 to cast)
NARRATOR: (ya)
CIMORENE: Do not move a single muscle
CIMORENE: until I say so
NARRATOR: (no laura)
NARRATOR: (voice of command is an enhancing spell only)
CIMORENE: (mrew?)
NARRATOR: (you'd have to cast something else now and it would be more powerful)
CIMORENE: (no, that's WORD of command, honey)
NARRATOR: (ugh)
CIMORENE: (*grins annoyingly*)
CIMORENE: (Shall we?)
NARRATOR: *you hear nothing from outside*
CIMORENE: *hurriedly looks at her chains*
NARRATOR: *classic shackles around your wrists*
NARRATOR: *solid iron bands that need a key*
CIMORENE: (does shatter work on metal?)
NARRATOR: (only wood)
CIMORENE: (sundering?)
NARRATOR: (ya it would but theres the chance you'll blow the ship apart too)
CIMORENE: *Casts Shatter on the wood around the shackles*
NARRATOR: (cool)
NARRATOR: (looks up
)
CIMORENE: (oh, have I healed at all?)
NARRATOR: (not at all)
CIMORENE: (Cast with a 14)
NARRATOR: *cast*
CIMORENE: (and what happens?)
NARRATOR: *the wall blows*
NARRATOR: *you're taking on water*
CIMORENE: (Wonderful)
NARRATOR: *the chains go free though*
CIMORENE: Well, since everyone and thier mother's heard that....
CIMORENE: (Wooden cage, right?)
NARRATOR: (yup)
CIMORENE: *Shatters the door*
CIMORENE: (cast with a 15)
NARRATOR: *cast*
NARRATOR: *it blows and splinters hit the unmoving guy*
CIMORENE: *looks around for another cage*
NARRATOR: *across the hall*
NARRATOR: *the water is coming in swiftly in your 5ft hole*
CIMORENE: *looks inside the other cage*
NARRATOR: *she's in there*
NARRATOR: *unconcious*
CIMORENE: *goes to the man, her eyes almost flashing fire* Where are our belongings, or I will do to you what I did to that door
NARRATOR: *he's not moving*
NARRATOR: *at all*
CIMORENE: *picks up a splinter and holds the jagged edge against his throat* If you scream, I swear I will slit your nasty throat. Move, and tell me, whispering, where our belongings are
NARRATOR: *spell in effect...*
CIMORENE: (I said, until I said otherwise, which would end the spell effectively)
NARRATOR: man:i don't know
CIMORENE: *pushes the wood a little firmer against his throat* Where WOULD they be?
NARRATOR: man:*scared some*the back of the ship...
CIMORENE: On this level, or below?
NARRATOR: man:this is the lowest
CIMORENE: *pushes it harder* Then which level would they be on?
NARRATOR: man:this one
CIMORENE: *shoves him ahead of her towards the back of the ship* Take me to where they might be..... or I swear that you'll wish the kraken had eaten you
NARRATOR: *he leads you slowly*
CIMORENE: *looks for her staff and her bow*
NARRATOR: *you find all but staff*
CIMORENE: *puts her bow on her back* Where would my staff be?
NARRATOR: man:the comodore must have confiscated it
CIMORENE: And where would the Commodore be
NARRATOR: man:the other ship
CIMORENE: And where is the other ship?
NARRATOR: man:*iritated* how should I know?
CIMORENE: *whacks him over the back of the head with the stick of wood, to knock him out*
NARRATOR: *he goes down*
CIMORENE: *searches him for a key*
NARRATOR: he's got it
CIMORENE: *takes it and hurries to set the other elf girl free. Shakes her roughly* WAke up
NARRATOR: *she does*
CIMORENE: *whispers the entire situation to her*
NARRATOR: elf:*nods* we have to get out of her first and help melendar
CIMORENE: *nods and hands her her belongings* I have a plan. I'm going to scare the living daylights out of this crew, nad hopefully put them to work for us
NARRATOR: Elf:Very well
CIMORENE: Follow my lead
NARRATOR: *follows*
CIMORENE: *runs for the stairs, praying that there are only two decks on this ship*
CIMORENE: (Are there?)
NARRATOR: *there is*
CIMORENE: (phew)
CIMORENE: *Casts Display of power as she walks up the last few steps*
CIMORENE: (cast with a 12)
NARRATOR: (saying?)
CIMORENE: *Purple lightening dances around her body as she steps out on deck, and waves of lightening pour from her body* How DARE you imprison me, the Shadow of the West? I, Cimorene the Violet Witch of the West, will destroy you all where you stand for this affront on my person!!!!!!!!!
CIMORENE: (20 on the intimidate)
NARRATOR: *you come up to the next deck*
NARRATOR: *there are 4 people in the hallway*
NARRATOR: *3 cower*
NARRATOR: *1 makes boxcars*
NARRATOR: boxcar:*to the men*Do not let this elf fool you! She is only trying to bewitch you with words. she has no real power...
CIMORENE: *Shoots him with an arrow, blazing with lightening*
CIMORENE: (20 to hit)
NARRATOR: *hits with a +2 damage*
NARRATOR: (actually cancel the +2)
CIMORENE: (22 damage, without the +2)
CIMORENE: That was the last post I got
NARRATOR: *he isn't dead*
NARRATOR: boxcars:You want a battle, you'll get one*charges with sword*
NARRATOR: *hits doing 13 damage*
NARRATOR: (you have no armor)
NARRATOR: *actually 20 since it's a charge*
NARRATOR: (1 courage can negate 5 damage)
NARRATOR: (hope you made it)
CIMORENE: (I'll use that courage, thanks)
NARRATOR: *elf girl with her reaquired weapons hacks him 4 times and he dies*
CIMORENE: *turns back to the cowering men* I would suggest you go try and plug the hole i put in your little boat
NARRATOR: *they look suspicious*
CIMORENE: *glares at them all, the lightning still writhing around her*
NARRATOR: *they scutter past you both below-decks*
CIMORENE: *keeps going up the stairs, pushing her endurance to the limit*
NARRATOR: (speaking of which)
NARRATOR: *stamina check*
CIMORENE: (11)
NARRATOR: *with negs and without staff?*
CIMORENE: (yup)
NARRATOR: (wow)
NARRATOR: *you pass*
CIMORENE: (I get a 10 for stamina, I rolled a 10, and I'm at -9)
NARRATOR: (your move)
CIMORENE: (Am I on the upper decks yet?)
NARRATOR: (nope)
CIMORENE: (damn it, Jon, you said there were only two decks to this ship)
NARRATOR: (when did i say that?)
CIMORENE: (*points above* When I asked)
NARRATOR: (ou didn't ask you just said you went up the stairs against)
CIMORENE: CIMORENE: *runs for the stairs, praying that there are only two decks on this ship*
CIMORENE: (Are there?)
NARRATOR: *there is*
NARRATOR: (very well then you're probably gonna die)
NARRATOR: *there is now some 16 more men*
NARRATOR: (rolling their willpowers)
NARRATOR: *2 more make boxcars*
NARRATOR: *the other men yell how you two are foolish elves and charge*
NARRATOR: *initiative*
CIMORENE: (Which ones charge?)
CIMORENE: (11)
NARRATOR: *2 medium men*
NARRATOR: *swords and shields/armor*
CIMORENE: (your move)
NARRATOR: :-P
NARRATOR: *elf girl meets a charge*
NARRATOR: *she hits 2 of her 4 attempts and drops a scimitar accidentally*
NARRATOR: *your move*
NARRATOR: *black armored men run at you
*
CIMORENE: (how many?
)
NARRATOR: (only the 2 still)
NARRATOR: (this battle hinges on their attitudes)
CIMORENE: *Lightning bolts the fully healed one* How DARE you try to touch me again......
CIMORENE: (holy crap...... boxcars)
NARRATOR: (cast)
NARRATOR: *ranged attack*
CIMORENE: (14 to hit)
NARRATOR: *misses due to his shield*
CIMORENE: *lightning crackles along the edge of the ship then, just missing the man* Do you dare continue, or do I actually aim for you this time?
NARRATOR: (you making a check?)
CIMORENE: (What check would that be?)
NARRATOR: (it's an intimidation attempt isn't it?)
CIMORENE: (Sounds good.... I still get a plus 5)
NARRATOR: (why? display of power is 1 round duration)
NARRATOR: (or is that your natural?)
CIMORENE: (but I still get half the pluses for d6+1 rounds, and I rolled a four
)
NARRATOR: (ah)
CIMORENE: (SO I get +5 for five rounds after I cast the thing)
NARRATOR: (k)
CIMORENE: (15)
NARRATOR: *he seems a little more hesitant but grits his teeth and keeps coming*
CIMORENE: (awwwww)
NARRATOR: (didn't make it by enough)
CIMORENE: (by a lot?)
NARRATOR: (no he only failed by 5)
CIMORENE: (ok.... here we go now)
NARRATOR: (huh? still with me?)
CIMORENE: (yeah)
CIMORENE: (The guy charged me, right?)
NARRATOR: (ya)
CIMORENE: (okies)
NARRATOR: (your defence is 11?)
CIMORENE: (Unfortunetely)
NARRATOR: (ya he made a 12 with the -2 you gave him)
CIMORENE: (bastard)
NARRATOR: *18*
CIMORENE: (oh crap)
NARRATOR: (did you die?)
CIMORENE: (I've got on hp left)
NARRATOR: (well if you have super powers use em now)
CIMORENE: (define super powers)
NARRATOR: (your wizard ability stuff)
NARRATOR: (you could bring the whole sinking ship down if you wanted)
CIMORENE: (how would I do that?)
NARRATOR: (sunder)
CIMORENE: (and kill myself in the process)
NARRATOR: (you have that ability once a session at +10 to double the whole thing)
NARRATOR: (i'm just saying)
CIMORENE: (that's only with my staff.... which I do't have)
NARRATOR: *elf girl gets hit pretty hard by her charge and she falters some*
NARRATOR: (no ma'am it's "wizardly power")
CIMORENE: (*thinks*)
NARRATOR: (maybe there is no way out, but this is it)
NARRATOR: (actually you need to make a str check against the charge to see if you're knocked down)
CIMORENE: (5)
NARRATOR: *both you elves are knocked prone*
CIMORENE: (how many men are on deck?)
NARRATOR: (16 counting the 2 you fight)
CIMORENE: *if I use the wizardly power on the Voice of Command spell, would it affect more people?)
NARRATOR: (it will double everything)
CIMORENE: (So, it will affect two people)
NARRATOR: (voice of command normally affects all who can hear you)
CIMORENE: (really?)
NARRATOR: (ya)
NARRATOR: (do it to display of power and you'd get a +20 to inspire/intimidate)
NARRATOR: (but it's a 20 weariness test then...)
CIMORENE: (I can't cast it......)
NARRATOR: (hmm)
NARRATOR: *+1 courage as a final chance from the valar*
CIMORENE: (I get a +16 to stamina..... I'm at -9. With another -10 I'm screwed)
CIMORENE: (awww..... you're so nice)
NARRATOR: (seems an appropriate time)
NARRATOR: (you and elf girl making your last stand and all)
CIMORENE: (ok, I rolled an 11)
NARRATOR: (for?)
NARRATOR: (and i was just saying you had options not telling or hinting what to do)
CIMORENE: (I'm just rolling it ahead of time. Display of power. So, with my +16, that's a 27. Minus 10 is 17, minus 9 is 8.... use last courage point for plus three..... 11)
CIMORENE: (11 to cast)
NARRATOR: (wow)
CIMORENE: (I know)
NARRATOR: (i'm amazed you can do it)
NARRATOR: (don't expect to cast spells after this, though)
CIMORENE: (And I typed it all out just so you know that I didn't cheat)
CIMORENE: (I know)
NARRATOR: (okay cast on wizardress)
CIMORENE: *summoning the very last of her courage, Cimorene screams out* Death to all who Oppose me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CIMORENE: (20 to intimidate)
CIMORENE: (oops.... 22)
NARRATOR: (what did you roll?)
CIMORENE: (9)
NARRATOR: (+22?)
NARRATOR: (you get a +20 that is not affected by your injury)
CIMORENE: (What?)
NARRATOR: (you have doubled the power of your spell)
NARRATOR: (instead of +10 you get +20)
CIMORENE: (I don't use the minuses for that?)
NARRATOR: (just the +20)
NARRATOR: (take it off of your normal skill, that part of the addition)
NARRATOR: (if i'm making any sense)
CIMORENE: (You are. It's 22. even)
NARRATOR: (alright then)
NARRATOR: *they both stop fast and cower with the others*
CIMORENE: (it woulda been a 21 at full strength)
NARRATOR: *elf girl breathes out a sigh of relief*
CIMORENE: (31)
NARRATOR: *she gathers her weapon again*
CIMORENE: *stands, tall and powerful* Puny humans..... who holds this ship for the Commodore?
NARRATOR: elf:*hurridly whispering* we must be quick we have control for now but the ship is sinking
NARRATOR: feather:I d d d.. do*feathered hat*
CIMORENE: *takes his hat and puts it on her own head* Where is the Commodore's ship?
NARRATOR: feather:*winces like a physcial blow when you take his hat and just starts crying on the ground*
CIMORENE: *thunders* WHERE??
NARRATOR: *he can only manage to point in a direction*
CIMORENE: How far ahead or behind us is it?
NARRATOR: *it is a misty day after all the rain so visibility is low*
NARRATOR: feather:not, an hhhh hh h h.. hour ahead........
CIMORENE: What did you do with the other captives? The bird?
NARRATOR: feather:we never found a bird
NARRATOR: feather:the other ship went to the harbor
CIMORENE: *turns towards some men* Get provisions and put them into a longboat. NOW.
NARRATOR: feather:*keeping it together enough*You heard her! Make it ready at once!
NARRATOR: *they all scutter about getting evrything ready*
CIMORENE: I suggest you pick a new line of work, young Man...... Hunting my kind is never smart.
CIMORENE: *gives him back his hat*
NARRATOR: feather:we'll see...*gladly takes hat back*
CIMORENE: Does the Commodore have my staff?
NARRATOR: feather:yes he has it!
NARRATOR: feather:the lord Ipal would not accept otherwise
CIMORENE: (.................)
CIMORENE: Lord Ipal?
NARRATOR: (that's what he said)
CIMORENE: (She's asking him agian, honey)
NARRATOR: feather:Yes, that's what I said
CIMORENE: Who is Lord Ipal?
NARRATOR: Feather:The prophet that we follow. The one who showed us the truth about your kind and how they... Do what you are doing now*shudders in terror*
CIMORENE: *turns* Is that boat ready yet?
NARRATOR: feather:uh huh
CIMORENE: *climbs into the boat, glaring at them all* Turn this ship around and sail back the way you came. And Captain.... if you happen to see Lord Ipal, tell him Lady Cimorene sends her affections. LOWER THE BOAT
NARRATOR: (laura there is a 5 ft by 5 ft gapin hole in that boat)
CIMORENE: (Why?)
NARRATOR: (you'd be sending them to certain doom if you sent them around)
NARRATOR: (you shattered it remember?)
CIMORENE: (*grins a little evilly* I know. And so does Cimorene)
NARRATOR: (that's corruption)
CIMORENE: (damn it)
NARRATOR: (you can, but just be warned)
CIMORENE: Sail this ship to another harbor, Captain..... NOT the one where your Commodore is
NARRATOR: *he nods and they are off*
NARRATOR: (good save, since you're a wizard and all)
CIMORENE: (Are we off the ship now?)
NARRATOR: (rowing away)
CIMORENE: Oh, Captain? *yells back*
NARRATOR: Feather:yes?
CIMORENE: I forgot to tell you..... your ship is sinking!
CIMORENE: *rows off*
NARRATOR: *random screaming in the distance*
CIMORENE: *looks at the girl* Well..... that was fun
NARRATOR: elf:*shaking her head*Not even slightly. I think we are only the worse for wear now
NARRATOR: elf:But they overpowered us all and you weren't even able to struggle, but melendar did for you*tear*
CIMORENE: *shakes her head* No.. I have a plan. We won't even have to row, if it works out. My Lord Eagle is still free and alive. All we have to do is contact him.
NARRATOR: elf:How do you plan to find the ship?
CIMORENE: And you'll see me struggle for him, my girl. We'll find My Lord Eagle first, and then just track the ship. Can't be that hard to find. We're so close to the shore now.
CIMORENE: *winces suddenly, hugging herself* Can you cast a healing spell at all?
NARRATOR: *she shakes her head no*
CIMORENE: (ANd I can't heal myself, right?)
NARRATOR: (nope)
CIMORENE: (THat is the stupidest rule)
NARRATOR: (i'm amazed you didn't get any armor)
CIMORENE: (*smacks herself in the head*)
NARRATOR: *you reach the framiliar shore to the town with no-name where you left Lord Ipal*
CIMORENE: (how long did it take?)
NARRATOR: (another hour or so)
CIMORENE: (Meditated for an hour, ok?)
NARRATOR: *it's a misty as hell day and visibility sucks*
NARRATOR: (gain2 hp*)
CIMORENE: *closes her eyes, whispering* Keep an eye out for a moment, won't you, Miss......?
NARRATOR: elf:*nods*I shall. What do you plan for your next trick?
NARRATOR: *she ignores the attempt on her name*
CIMORENE: I'm going to call Melendar and se if he's alive or not
CIMORENE: (Sweet Mother of Jefferson DAvis,,,,,, boxcars to pass weariness for Farspeaking)
NARRATOR: (you kidding?)
CIMORENE: (no)
NARRATOR: (cast on)
CIMORENE: *concentrates on Melendar's ring* <Beloved? Can you hear me?>
NARRATOR: *nothing*
CIMORENE: <Melendar.... PLEASE answer me>
NARRATOR: *no response*
CIMORENE: (DO I have cast it again to try it on something else?)
NARRATOR: (ya)
NARRATOR: (besides his invisible ring)
CIMORENE: *Concentrates on his invisible ring* <Melendar?>
NARRATOR: (no that's the one you were talking into)
NARRATOR: (or are you just trying again?)
CIMORENE: (trying one last time)
NARRATOR: (k)
CIMORENE: (anything?)
NARRATOR: *no response*
CIMORENE: *she opens her eyes* Great..... Melendar isn't respondng. He's either unconscious or.......
NARRATOR: elf:Or what?! Have killed him?!*her voice raising some*
CIMORENE: *she nods* Or they somehow found his invisible ring
NARRATOR: elf:*slouches deflatedly*What now?...
CIMORENE: We have to get closer and see what is going on
NARRATOR: elf:and yet we are in no condition to do so... *sighs resigned*I would die for him, though and if you would too then....... so much the better.
CIMORENE: I would die for him..... for Valar's sake, what is your name?
NARRATOR: elf:My name is Edhel.(translates into "elf")
CIMORENE: *smiles* And I am Cimorene. Now..... let's go save our man, shall we? (Beast Speech)
NARRATOR: (?)
CIMORENE: (cast with a 10. I'm casting Beast Speech)
NARRATOR: (oh i get it)
CIMORENE: *screams* My Lord Eagle!!
CIMORENE: (of course, it just sounds like a big bird yelling*
NARRATOR: *you hear a sort of near crash and a reply* I come!
CIMORENE: (near crash?)
NARRATOR: (he busted out of something.... like maybe a boat hold)
CIMORENE: (oh shit)
CIMORENE: *looks towards the sound of the crash*
NARRATOR: *you see the eagle come down from above*
NARRATOR: *there is the black pearl in dock*
CIMORENE: *runs and hugs him tightly about the neck* my hands touch with joy, my friend. Are you all right
NARRATOR: they could not find me, i am alright
CIMORENE: My friend, we have to save Melendar and Pallando
NARRATOR: indeed, but i know not where to find them
CIMORENE: *looks towards the docks and counts ships*
CIMORENE: How did the Pearl get here?
NARRATOR: I only know that my friend never returned to find me and that enemies manned the ship in after the battle
CIMORENE: (IS there another ship in the harbor?)
CIMORENE: (What can I see, with my elf eyes?)
NARRATOR: (you can't see any but the pearl since it obstructs view of the docks)
CIMORENE: *climbs up onto his back* Ok.... fly over the docks to the other side of town. We'll get a look and see if we can see our friends
NARRATOR: Edhel:*to you*A curse on you if you forget about me
CIMORENE: *holds out her hand* Coming, Edlhel?
NARRATOR: *she gets on*
CIMORENE: *she smiles at the Eagle* All right? Fly as high as you think is safe, and look for our friends, or another ship below
NARRATOR: yes
NARRATOR: *he lifts off*
NARRATOR: *you can see 2 other ships in the docks and men all over the place*
NARRATOR: *some in black armor*
CIMORENE: (Can I see Ipal, Melendar, or Pallando?)
NARRATOR: *you see pallando on the edge of town conversing with a gent in black armor*
CIMORENE: *Farspeaking*
CIMORENE: (15 to cast it)
CIMORENE: (Concentrating on Pallando's ring)
NARRATOR: (what ring?)
CIMORENE: (Now, no one else can hear me, right? His ring on his left hand with the blue stone. I remember using it before)
CIMORENE: (or, does he have his staff?)
NARRATOR: (i don't remember that, he does have his staff and all around can hear what you say)
CIMORENE: (Cancel that action then)
CIMORENE: (any sign of Melendar or Ipal or Brad)
CIMORENE: (Bard)
NARRATOR: *you can see bard being led off the pearl to pallando*
NARRATOR: *non of the others*
CIMORENE: *smiles gently* Good old Pallando.... saving my horse for m
e
CIMORENE: (What are the men doing?)
NARRATOR: *loading/unloading*
NARRATOR: *importing/exporting*
NARRATOR: *trading*
NARRATOR: *showing off sword techniquest to kids*
CIMORENE: (Anyone else in large, feathery hats?)
NARRATOR: *pallando is talking to the other feather hat*
CIMORENE: Take us down out of sight, My Lord Eagle.... where they can't see us but we can see them
NARRATOR: *he manages to find a spot some 150 ft away*
NARRATOR: Edhel:this is it then?
CIMORENE: What do you mean, this is it?
NARRATOR: Edhel:We make our stand here?
CIMORENE: *points* That man down there is a great wizard, he will help us find melendar. We cannot afford to simply run in there.... we'll be killed
NARRATOR: Edhel:Then gather your friend
CIMORENE: I will when it is safe for him
CIMORENE: *watches Pallando*
NARRATOR: *after a few minutes pallando gathers up bard and rides off*
CIMORENE: (Rides off where?)
NARRATOR: *the other way; out of town*
CIMORENE: (Farspeaking)
CIMORENE: (Cast with a 11)
CIMORENE: (On his staff)
CIMORENE: <Pallando?> *softly*
NARRATOR: cimorene the violet *chuckles* the spirit that would not die
CIMORENE: *she smiles* <We're on the other side of town... where is Melendar?>
NARRATOR: Ipal took him away when we reached the shore. I think he may be dead...
CIMORENE: <Where did he take him?>
NARRATOR: To some sort of lair to the south. *sadly*I was in no condition to match everyone in this area in combat. I hope you understand
CIMORENE: <Neither am I friend... are you willing to come with me to save him?>
NARRATOR: I am and if we do not leave now I believe we will never find him alive for certain
NARRATOR: I am riding to you now
NARRATOR: *you hear bard come up beside you*
NARRATOR: Pallando:This fog will aid us well
CIMORENE: *turns and runs to them, hugging first Bard then Pallando* I was afraid they'd killed you too
NARRATOR: Pallando:They never really bothered to check the hold*greets his eagle friend*
CIMORENE: We should go, Pallando... with luck, we can overtake Ipal.
NARRATOR: Pallando:Yes, but I think we will need much
CIMORENE: *nods* I agree..... but we'll find no friends here to help us
NARRATOR: Pallando:True
NARRATOR: Edhel:We don't want their help anyway
CIMORENE: Was Ipal alone?
NARRATOR: Pallando:No he had something like a personal guard all in black. Very similar to how Alatar like to travel near the end...
CIMORENE: Wonderful.... how many men?
NARRATOR: Pallando:5
CIMORENE: *looks at them all* With a little healing, we may be able to take 5
NARRATOR: Pallando:*shakes his head*But they were going to a fortress of sorts. They mean ill towards Gondor and the rest of their allies
CIMORENE: When did they leave?
NARRATOR: Pallando:hours ago
CIMORENE: How many?
NARRATOR: Pallando:about 3 hours ago
CIMORENE: If we fly we can catch them
NARRATOR: Pallando:Just in time for your deaths?
NARRATOR: Pallando:I will not be dying yet, Cimorene
NARRATOR: Edhel:If there is a chance we must take it!
CIMORENE: But.... why would he take Melendar to his fortress instead of killing him?
NARRATOR: Pallando:*shrugs*I do not know the inner workings or intentions of the man
NARRATOR: Pallando:He has gone to evil and that tends to change the rational of a person to twisted evil things
CIMORENE: *sits down heavily* I don't know what to do.... we're still miles from Gondor.... we're too injured to fight anymore.... and Ipal is.... *lifts her head* Ipal may be using Melendar as bait
NARRATOR: Edhel:Then I intend to fall into his trap and at least die trying
NARRATOR: Pallando:The perfect bait for you is it not?
CIMORENE: *looks at her harshly* If we die trying to keep him from dying, he will still die, don't you see that?
NARRATOR: Pallando:But perhaps he saves his life only for a tortured end that we cannot stop in time?
NARRATOR: Edhel:*to you*and what action do you purpose? Other than leaving him to die without even a struggle?
CIMORENE: I will not leave him to die.
NARRATOR: Pallando:Perhaps it would make you feel better to know that he slew some 30 men before being taken?
