"Yo-you want me to sing for you?"

"Yeah if you don't mind, do you mind? " Lance asked Kayla.

"Umm, I'm sorry but I can't. I have this small fear of singing in front of people if I know they are watching me. Sorry?"

"That's Ok hun! We won't hold it against you," Joey said from the kitchen, "Come and eat anyways"

"Um, Joe-man we don't have a table. What are we gonna eat on," Chris asked.

"Why don't we all sit here on the floor and eat like the chineese people," Kayla said giggling a little

"Good idea Mac. Come on guys grab a pillow of the couch to eat on," Justin said.

"Hey Justy when did you start calling me Mac?" Kayla asked with a smile. She really liked that the guys could feel comfortable enough to make nick names for her. The only problem is that Kayla wished Lance would do the same. She wanted him to feel he could do stuff like that.

"Probably around the same time you started to call me Justy." Justin joked while smiling at her. Even though they were practically the same age, she reminded him of the little sister he never had.

They all walked to where Joey set the home-made pizza down. Lance was a little put off by the way Kayla and Justin were acting toward each other. He sat down next to Justin and Kayla sat down next to Lance. She didn't know if Lance would think it weird of her, but there was no where else to sit. She looked over at Lance and he looked at her. She kinda smiled to him and he did the same. "Oh god! Why did I pick this place to sit. I will never be able to talk to him. And he probably doesn't want to talk to me anyways," Kayla thought as she put her pizza on her plate.

"So, Kayla I heard you have 3 sisters. Any of them our age?' Joey asked with a smile.

"Umm, my sister Lizzy is your age Chris, but she's married. My sister Nikki is 20. And my step sister is 16, but she'd marry you all in a minute if she could!"

"Thats kool. A fan in the house? That might be bad if she tells all her friends don't ya'll think. Now just be sure that she don't tell every girl she knows. " J.C. said jokingly.

The problem was Kayla took it seriously. She thought he was saying that she wasn't wanted around anymore. "Oh God! Not again. If he wanted an excuse for me to leave them alone, he could have just told me," Kayla thought as she tried to stop the tears.

Lance looked over at Kayla as J.C. said this and saw the tears in her eyes. He knew that J.C. shouldn't have said that the way he did. Just by what she told Justin it was obvoius that she was a very sensitive girl.

"Um.. I-I have to go now. It's been nice meeting you all. I won't tell my sister you all live here. I-I have to go," Kayla said as her first tear fell down her cheek. She got up and ran out of the house before she started sobbing.

"Oh god! What did I say?" J.C. asked in astonishment.

Lance looked at J.C. with daggers in his eyes. He got up and ran after Kayla.
