OVERALL SUMMERY
Kyle finished up the season 20th in pts with 2 wins, 9 top 5s and 13 top 10s which won him 2005 Rookie Of The Year. But one of the big things, just like his brother, is he completed 90.3% of all the laps he ran. In 2004, he won Busch Series Rookie Of the Year, finished runner-up in the standings and won 5 races.
RESTRICTOR PLATES
Kyle's restrictor plate sucess was not good at all this year due to wrecks & engine failures. So if he can get rid of both, he could possibly be running up near the front just like his teammates Jeff Gordon & Jimmie Johnson.
SHORT TRACKS
His short track sucess is split in half. Half with good finishes in the top 5 and half with bad finishes due to overheating and wrecks. If he can get rid of the overheating problems with the engine and the wrecks, he could be a threat on the short tracks.
FLAT TRACKS
His flat tracks are also split in half too. He has good finishes including a win @ Phoenix but also has bad finishes due to wrecks. If he can get rid of the wrecks just like at the short and restrictor plate tracks, he could have a good season on the flat tracks.
ROAD COURSES
Well when he stays out of trouble, he can get a nice top 10 finish so like everywhere else, stay out of trouble and you got a contender.
COOKIE CUTTERS
He has mixed results on the cookie cutters whether is be tires, wrecks, engines or just bad cars but he also had his highlights including his first win @ California. So if he can stay away from all of the above, his cookie cutter year will be a good.
OVERALL
Kyle has the talent and the equipment to get it done but what he needs is major luck. So if he can get luck, stay out of wrecks and not blow any engines then we will have a championship contender on our hands.
