Season Preview:
Kasey Kahne
Written by: Ashley M.
PAST OVERVIEW
In 2004, Kasey scored 5 second place finishes and the rookie of the year title. Well this year Kasey scored his first Cup Series win ever @ Richmond and finished 23rd in the standings.
RESTRICTOR PLATES
His highest plate finish was 13th with the lowest being 26th. Kasey needs to approve upon his plate finishes majorly if he evens wants to get close to contension.
SHORT TRACKS
Kasey had 3 top 10s at the short tracks (one being a win) yet also had 2 finishes in the teens and a wreck. Meaning that Kasey does know how to run good on short tracks but needs to a little more work. Plus he also needs to stay out of trouble.
ROAD COURSES
One road course equals a accident well the other equals a 17th place finish. So I guess on that second one he was playing the survival game after the first one. That is a ok game to play it's just he needs to learn to play it better and then he'll have the top 15 finishes atleast.
FLAT TRACKS
Kasey either finishes in the teens or wrecks. So what Kasey first needs to do is stay out of the trouble and then work on turning those teen finishes into top 10 finishes.
COOKIE CUTTERS
In most situations if he stays out of trouble, he gets a top 10 finish except in a few spots where he has got finishes in the teens. So all Kasey has to do is stay out of trouble and improve on those few spots.
OVERALL
Kasey basically needs to work on escaping trouble and improving the teen finishes into top 10 finishes. He knows how to get it done in sections; we're just perfecting it to make it a championship contender.
