Season Preview:
Kevin Harvick
Past
Kevin Harvick started his NASCAR career with the Busch Series in 2000. In 2000, he beat out Ron Hornaday for Rookie Of The Year. 2001 was a demanding year where Kevin ran both series. He won ROTY for the Cup Series & won the Busch Series championship over Greg Bifle. In 2003, he finished 5th in pts with a win in the Brickyard 400.
In 2005, Kevin missed the chase and finished the season 14th in pts with 1 win which was at Bristol.
Restrictor Plates
If Kevin makes it out of TBO, he finds decent finishes (10th and 12th). So he basically needs to escape the wrecks.
Short Tracks
Like his plate races, if he manages to stay out of trouble he can find top 10 finishes and actually top 5 finishes as well. He's got the talent but no luck. Reminds me of a bunch of others.
Road Courses
When Kevin stays out of trouble (like everywhere else), he can get top 15 finishes. So like everything so far, he needs to stay out of trouble.
Flat Tracks
When Kevin finds his way out of trouble, he finds top 20 finishes but not really really good ones (except for his Homstead which was a 8th) so the flat track program will need to improve.
Cookie Cutters
Most of Kevin's cookie cutters are good except some will some do need some work but mostly cookie cutters are good. Hmm...has mr. chocolate monster been eating some chocolate cookies?
Overall
Kevin has three goals for 2006 which I consider easy. Stay of trouble, improve the flat tracks and improve the cookie cutters a little. If all goes good, he'll be back in the top 10 in pts.
