2006 Season Preview:
Greg Bifle
By: Ashley M.
Past Overview
Before Greg got into Cup, he won the 1998 Craftsmen Truck Series ROTY, 2000 Craftsmen Truck Series Championship, 2001 Busch Series ROTY and 2002 Busch Series Championship. So overall, he proved himself as a good driver.
2005 was Greg's breakout year with 6 wins and a second place finish in the standings, only 35 behind the leader. Plus Greg spent all but 1 race in the top 10 in pts.
Restrictor Plates
Greg's restrictor plate finishes were not good, with the highest at 13th. So Greg needs to work on his finishes which his problem in 3 of the 4 races has been getting wrecked. So Greg needs to avoid getting into trouble.
Short Tracks
Greg only had 2 bad short track finishes and that was due to problems. So like at the plates, if he stays out of trouble, he should be really consistant on the short tracks.
Road Courses
Greg's road course finishes were 14th and 21st so there will need to be a little bit of work done on this section also. And what work is that? It's called performance. Greg will need to up his finishes to be a champion.
Flat Tracks
Greg's flat track finishes weren't the brightest at the beginning but he proved throughout the year to make his final 2 flat track finishes 2nd and 1st. So no improvement needed her. He'll just need to continue this flat track momentum.
Cookie Cutters
Greg's strength is his cookie cutters. All Greg needs to do is eliminate the little problems and he'll be even stronger.
Overall
Overall Greg needs to improve his road course finishes and eliminate the problems. That is the only thing that is holding Greg back from the championship.
