I light a candle in your rememberance.
I think of the special memories you gave me.
I look to the sky wondering where you are.
I think to myself your probably watching over your son.
I remember that fateful day.
I cried my heart out that night.
I remember hearing the news.
I could't believe that it was true.
You are a hero.
You are one driver many look up to.
You have inspired many.
You even continue to inspire some till this day.

He's the father of a future legend
One who we truely miss.
He's beeen my hero since I became a fan
And a hero to many till this day and forever on.
He will be missed but never forgotten
His memories will always be remembered in our heart
Many hearts were broken along the way
But in the end everyone grew to love one another
He was tough of nails on track
But sweet as a baby off the track
He could've roughed you up on track
But of you could always go to him for advice
Sometimes off track he played jokes
Such as the eyeballs for Ricky and the sadines for Rusty
19 years of trying; 19 years of heartbreak
Finally to suceed in the 20th try in the Daytona 500.
He didn't like the Plates; he said he wasn't good at Plate racing
But fellow drivers knew he was the mastermind of Plates
When he won a championship, he was looking foward to winning the next
Even after he tied the king with 7
He is Dale Earnhardt
The legend who will always be with us.
