In 2003, he won Truck Series rookie of the year and the next year, he won 3 truck races. Also in 2004, he started his first cup race @ Michigan and finished 10th.

In 2005, Carl won his first Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the same weekend he won his first Busch race. Carl went on to win 3 more races this year in Cup to finish 3rd in pts winning ROTY.

Carl is good on the restrictor plate tracks but he needs to stay out of trouble.

Carl's short track finishes aren't the best so he'll need to work on them.

If Carl stays out of trouble, he can get decent finishes which are ok.

Carl gets good finishes on the flat tracks if he stays out of trouble.

Carl only had one bad cookie cutter finish so if he can stay out of trouble for that one, then I say he's going to be Mr. A on the cookie cutter tracks.

Overall Carl needs to stay out of trouble. That's Carl's only problem right now.
