As is everything on the internet, the text and images on this site are protected by copyright. While I wrote the text myself, not all images are my property. Although considerable effort has been taken to credit known owners of the photos, some images are being displayed under the "Fair Educational Use" clause of copyright law. Others are used with the thoughtful consent of others, some of whom are cited per their request. Before copying either text or images, I urge you to contact me in email to ascertain whether I can grant you permission to use what you wish.
If the image you wish to use is mine or you wish to quote my text, I will more than likely grant you permission to use it as long as let me know the purpose for which you plan to use it & you cite your source as being Leona Payne & these web pages.
If the image or information you wish to use belongs to someone else, I will attempt to reach the owner if possible & gain permission on your behalf, as long as you have revealed how you wish to use the intellectual property in question. If your plans include publishing in the information in any form, please be aware that my name, the title of the site & URL should appear in your bibliography in standard APA form as follows:
Payne, Leona M. Dolls in the Image of Diana, Princess of Wales June 1998. May 2002. http://members.cox.net/thepaynes/dianapage.html
As a final comment, I would like to add that it is somewhat disheartening to have found my words & photos appearing in eBay auction descriptions without any type of acknowledgement. I am not a doll dealer & I maintain these pages from a deeply heart felt wish to pay tribute to the woman who was my personal heroine for so many years. I make no money from my hobby & seeing others attempt to make a profit from my thoughts & emotions grieves me to the core of my soul.
Please treat the information you find here with the consideration you would wish to have extended to your own possessions. A caution: If I see my intellectual property in the description of your eBay auction, & you have neglected to write to me, I will request that you remove the portions of your advertising that originated from my web pages & if you refuse, I will report the incident to eBay's Safe Harbor. I really hate having to sound so hostile, but it only takes a minute to ask.
