If you decide not to cooperate with the group...Most of us behave like adults, however, the Founders have run across a few individuals on the internet who like to stir things up for their own twisted amusement. If you choose to ignore guidelines & simple tenets of common courtesy, you will be asked to make changes. We don't like doing any of these things. Please don't put us or yourself in this position.
If a situation or dispute does occur, we may attempt to make direct contact by email with the parties involved in an attempt to resolve the situation, especially if there is a recurring problem. If we cannot make contact or there is no change, another step the moderators may take is to set up members’ accounts so that posts will not go directly to the group. Whether a member returns after a “vacation” of this sort depends on willingness to cooperate.
Messages, photos, or links may be deleted if they do not conform to guidelines. Egregious problems could lead to membership being deleted from the club & ultimately, the ex-member permanently banned. We don't want to do this because, deep down, we really believe everyone can get along, but please don't test us. What is abusive? That includes name calling, bad language, unnecessary criticism directed to the group or the moderators, or demonstrating a general unwillingness to cooperate with the group.
Some reasons for blocking/deleting messages:
· offensive language/profanity or sexually suggestive content · posting links to inappropriate sites · abusive treatment of other members · illegal activity · too many off-topic posts/noise to message ratio is too high. · duplicate messages—you sent the message more than once
Some reasons for deleting photos/files/bookmarks or editing albums:
· complaints about copyright infringement · offensive or pornographic content · irrelevant to the club's purpose · lack of space or non-working links · lack of member contact information · creation of "personal" albums--these will be converted so that the rest of the club can use them! · "misfiled" photos--put in the "wrong" album--they may be moved to help other members find them easily
Some reasons for deleting membership from the club:
· repeated misuse of club facilities or egregious actions · abusive treatment of members or the Moderators publicly or in email · use of a false identity
If you are offended by any of the rules in the Club’s information pages, please feel free to find another Club/Group. There are others available. We wouldn’t want to make you participate with us against your wishes. We also prefer that you not inflict your unhappiness on the rest of the group or the Moderators. These policies have been drafted during the course of more than five successful years. Most of them have a story behind them & a reason for being mentioned. |
