Ayako-fied McBef

So, at the beginning of the play, we see these chicks in beards talking about some crazy ish. If you research the stuff, it's all witch-type stuff. It's all in order. Actually, funny thing about this play, Shakespeare took all this stuff from actual black magic stuff. That's one theory way this play is cursed.

Well, anyway, so we get this scene where this soldier comes in and tells about what a great guy Macbeth is, despite the fact that he (the guy) is all bleeding to death and stuff. After that, we get to see Macbeth himself for the first time, coming back from some stupid battle, apparently going the long way around. He meets the crazy bearded ladies, who tells him that he's going to get three different royal-ish titles. Thane of Glamis (pronounced GLAHMS), Thane of Cawdor and King. Now, don't ask me what a Thane is, because I don't have a clue. Probably a duke or something. After this, some courtier or other tells Mackie that because of his heroic doings, he is now Thanes of Glamis and Cawdor. He sends this news with the messenger/courtier guy to his wife, lady Mac.

So Lady Mac is nuts. Well, she's not nuts yet. That comes later. She gets the news, and decides, Hey! Duncan (the king) isn't getting any younger... Let's off him! So then she gets all sexy with Macbeth and he agrees. So then they kill Duncan, and blame it on his attendants, who they drugged beforehand. So then Macbeth gets all scared (but only after he kills Duncan) and Lady Mac yells at him a while. So then people are like DAMN! DUNCAN'S DEAD! And then Mac & Lady Macbeth acted all surprised and Mac goes in and stabs the attendant people before they can say Macbeth did it. Everybody mourned for a while.

Then, we get this funny little middle section. Ha, ha.

Mac and Lady Mac are living it up. Mac is then visited again by the witches, who tell him that Banquo's descendants are going to take the throne. Macbeth is pissed off at this, but he's happy when they tell him that he can't be harmed until one part of the forest gets up and moves to another, and he can only be illedby a man not born of a woman. Pretty freaky stuff.

So Macbeth has Banquo killed (forgetting about Banquo's son, Fleance) and laughs it up. He starts getting stronger and stronger as Lady Mac gets weaker. He kills Macduff's wife and child, because he can. Macbeth then sees Banquo's ghost at a party, and that's when everything starts unraveling.

At this point, everybody hates Macbeth. Macduff & Malcolm (Duncan's son) plot against Mac. People just hate him in general. Then, Lady Mac goes nuts from grief (or something). And she dies. And when she dies, then Macbeth gets word that this rebel force (headed by Macduff & Malcolm) has been using the trees of the forest in the prophecy as camo, and moving them forward. Macbeth is still confident, though, and goes about killing people. However, Macduff was delivered early, by cesarian section, when his mother died. So then Macduff kills Macbeth, and there is much rejoicing. Yay.
