The music finished, and he introduced the people who had come forward to ask to join the congregation I sat, not so patiently.  Finally it was my turn, Dennis has come to me, and asked to address the congregation.

I stood up and started, In the last 2-3 years, Ive made a journey.  A journey that included a lot of searching and a lot of pray.  I allowed God back into my life.  In that time Ive met a wonderful woman who has taken some of this journey with me.  It was about this time that I looked up and the tears were flowing down Jennys cheeks.  She wasnt sure what exactly I was going to say, but she was moved by my being up there.  So choking back tears of my own I continued, and as this woman and I have moved forward, the one thing we knew, is that God has to be in the center of our relationship. And I know of no better place then here to start the next phase of our relationship, so if you will indulge me for a moment and I started walking back to the back of the church where we had been sitting.

All eyes were on me as I marched to the back and pulled out the little brown box.  As I knelt on the side of the pew and took her hand I said through the tears of joy, Jenny, will you marry me?

The faintest of whispers came out as she struggled to get herself together, Yes.  I gently place the ring on her finger.  I got up and gave her a kiss to a round of applause from the congregation.  I lead Jenny up front where Pastor David asked Gods blessing on our relationship, that we may continue to find Gods love in each other, and grow closer with each passing day.

As the congregations all came up and welcomed me to the family, hugged Jenny and I, it was goodness and blessings by all.  It was even more special as her dad, in tears, hugged me and her mom, also in tears giving me a big hug, and welcoming me to the family. It was as I knew it should be.  A relationship blessed by God.  .

We have answered a million questions in our lives up to this point, and a million more before we get married.  But we are on that path, and with Gods blessing will be there sometime next summer.

I wanted to put this down so I can share this with all my friends that couldnt be there yesterday, and for memories in the future. So as you read it, I ask that you say a little prayer for Jenny and I that we continue to grow in Gods love. Amen
