Heero was in the hospital for a week before his back healed. He and Relena didn�t speak of the kiss again until 3 more years had passed. In those 3 years, Heero continued to watch over Relena, only this time with her knowledge. In those four years, Relena again claimed the name of Peacecraft but continued on her previous path, slowly dissolving the passivist attitude. On the beginning of the fourth year of this, Relena approached Heero and asked that he move in with her � as a way of more efficient protection, of course � to which Heero agreed.
Heero lived with Relena for 1 year with little confrontation. One night, he was laying in his bed, across the hall from Relena, when he heard a noise come from her bedroom. Thinking it was an intruder, he rushed into the room to find Relena exiting from her shower with nothing on save a few drops of water running down her body. Relena and Heero stared at one another for a long time, both too afraid to move or speak. Then, without hesitation and without warning, Heero advanced and kissed Relena. They shared the night together and that morning, while Relena made breakfast for them and Heero slept off the night, an assassin snuck into the house and murdered Relena in her own kitchen. Heero awoke to find her lying in a pool of blood in the center of the kitchen. He cursed himself for letting her die and swore to get revenge.
It was 8 months later that he managed to track down the assassin. Not only did he eventually kill the man, he made sure to torture him severely before he breathed his last.
Heero has never forgiven himself for the death of Relena and the thought of her still plagues his nights. The rarely thinks of the other Gundam pilots but not because he doesn�t miss their company; it is because they remind him of Relena and the reason he met her in the first place. It pains him to think about the past and everything he has done so he is constantly looking to the future.
