Conflicting Moon![]() |
The story of Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion is a romance known throughout the ages as one of the most tearful. Princess Serenity, the only daughter of the Moon Kingdom, and Prince Endymion, the youngest son of the Earth Kingdom; One is the keeper of the silver crystal and the other the bearer of the golden crystal. It was written that the silver and gold crystals were once one entity and were separated to prevent evil hands from touching the power they held. The jewels were supposed to stay apart, one defending the earth from orbit and the other defending earth from within. Theyre meeting was forbidden, but still they fell in love. They loved one another so much, that they were willing to die for each other and when Endymion fell in battle, defending Serenity, the young princess, overcome with grief, took her lovers sword to her chest. |

| But the story didnt end there! For the young Prince and Princess were reincarnated with the mighty power of the silver crystal. They grew up separately but still they found one another. Time itself could not keep them apart. They fought, side by side, against the forces of evil and time after time they were successful. Everyone thought they would be together forever. Eventually the fighting stopped and the real world began. Usagi Tsukino and Mamoru Chiba began working and attending college like average people did. They even decided to move in together because theyre love was that strong. Thats when the trouble started Mamoru began to grow more demanding than Usagi was used to. He grew accustomed to her handling certain chores and when she didnt do them, or simply forgot, Mamoru would grow quite irritable. At first, Usagi ignored it. She thought that it would pass; that perhaps it was only a phase. The arguments became more frequent and soon they stopped spending as much time together. It was slow, but eventually Usagi realized the path they were headed down. When she confronted Mamoru, he laughed and told her she was being silly. It wasnt until one evening alone together that the final strand in their relationship broke. |

| They had just finished dinner and Usagi was staring out at the stars on their balcony when Mamoru decided to join her. As usual, he wrapped his arms around her and held her silently, just watching the moon rise. It was times like this that Usagi forgot about the arguments, because she felt so safe in his arms. But when he leaned down to whisper in her ear, she was reminded of why she didnt like to be near him.
Usagiits your turn to do the dishes. Usagi considered letting it go, because who wants to get in an argument about the dishes, but she couldnt. She pushed him away from her and looked into his eyes. I did the dishes for the last month, Mamoru. Its your turn. Mamoru did what he always did; he smiled ran his hand along her cheek and spoke in the soothing voice he knew she loved. But you promised, Usako. Usagi cringed. It used to be that Mamorus pet name for her sent a chill of pleasure through her spine, but now it only reminded her of his manipulating. The fight that ensued would prove to be theyre worst yet. They would yell, they would name call and eventually Usagi would get fed up. Im leaving Mamoru! Ive had it! Mamoru, in his usual way, would stand in silence and wait until her rant was finished before speaking. Then, as he always did, he walked up to her, placed his hands on her shoulders and spoke soothingly to her. Usagi, I understand that youre upset. But please, lets just go to bed and start fresh in the morning. Alright? |

And as usual, Usagi would nod her head in silent agreement and they would go to bed. But that night while Usagi lay in the warm grasp of the man she had loved for so long, it occurred to her that she may not be with him for the reasons that she thought she was. Yes, she met her daughter from the future who said that Mamoru was her father, but was that the only reason she was with him? Was she staying with Mamoru for Chibi-Usas sake? She had to find out for sure. So that night, she snuck out of bed, packed her belongings and left. When Mamoru awoke the next morning, he found a note on his desk that was weighted down with a small gold ring. The note read: | ![]() |

| Mamoru, maybe our destiny isnt what we thought it was. I have to find out. ~Usagi. | |||
Usagi was free, after five years of being devoted to someone. Surprisingly, she found it very liberating. She no longer had to worry about coming home on time, or meeting someone elses standards. With so much free time, Usagi took up new hobbies. A woman in her class had mentioned a poetry reading at the local coffee shop, so she decided to stop by. When she arrived, someone caught her eye. The man standing behind the counter looked vaguely familiar but she couldnt place the face. He was tall with violet eyes and short white hair. That night, Usagi dreamed about him and he revealed his identity: Prince Demando of the Darkmoon kingdom. Demando explained to Usagi that he had changed his ways. He realized that the moon kingdom was never meant to be his and he honored her for her dedication. When Usagi returned to the coffee shop, she decided to speak with Demando. Soon, Usagi realized how much she enjoyed his company. He never once tried to tell her who to be or what to say. He enjoyed her for who she was. As time passed, Usagis feelings for him began to grow. Eventually, Demando admitted that his feelings for her had never faded and that he still loved her more than life itself. That was all it took for Usagi. They began to date, and moved in together after only a month. Demando was overjoyed that he had his princess at last and Usagi was enjoying the freedom of this new found love. |

| Mamoru, meanwhile, was devastated. When he learned of Usagis new love he silently vowed to leave her be. He never wanted to push her away and if she was happy now, who was he to get in the way? Few people know the depth of his pain, and few have guessed; the sailor senshi being among those few. The senshi were very disturbed to hear that Usagi was dating their enemy. Usagi tried to explain to them that Demando had changed, that he was good; and they were her friends, so they tried to believe her. Inside, however, they were unsure of his intentions. | |||
