Would you take the risk and allow yourself

What if I told you that since I met you,
I've never wanted to leave your side?
What if I asked you to open up your heart?

What if I told you that it's you I want to be with
today and forever more?
What if I told it's love that I feel?
That you are the one I adore?
I hope that all these "what if's"
don't scare you and push you away.
It's just my way of showing you

But I know that you've been hurt in the past

Yet I still feel the need to let you know
