Seven of Nine walked down a corridor. She was aware that Ensign Kim was following her, but she chose to ignore him. She glanced down at the padd she was carrying, and turned toward astrometrics. Harry Kim followed. When she reached astrometrics, she turned to Harry and said “Ensign Kim.” Harry blushed.

“Don’t you have to be somewhere?”

“Actually, I’m off-duty. I’m going to the holodeck.” He replied.

“Then you must be aware that the holodeck is in the other direction.” Seven told him. Harry’s blush turned even deeper. He turned and headed off down the corridor. Seven sighed. She knew that Harry was attracted to her, but she didn’t know what to do about it. Human emotions are so confusing, she thought.

Harry Kim was heading toward the holodeck when he ran into Tom Paris. He was still slightly red from his recent encounter with Seven. He was going to ask Tom if he wanted to visit the holodeck with him, when he noticed that Tom was looking around in confusion. He said “Hey, Tom, what’s up?”

“Who are you?” Was the only response.

“Seven to the Captain. I have located an M-class planet rich in deuterium. We should probably go down and take a look.” Seven waited patiently for the Captain’s response. It never came.

“Seven to Engineering. Are you showing a comm failure?” Lieutenant Torres’ irritated voice came through Seven’s comm badge.

“No, Seven, we’re not. Why?” “Because the Captain is not responding to my call.”

“I’m going up to the bridge anyway. I’ll check things out. Torres out.”

Harry stared at Tom with incredulity. “You’re kidding, right?” he asked.

“No, I’m not. And who am I? And where am I?”

“Tom, we’d better get you down to sickbay immediately.”

“Where’s sickbay? Should I assume that I am Tom?”

B’Elanna Torres was facing a similar situation on the bridge. No one seemed to know who they were or what they were doing. “Do you remember anything?” she said irately.

Tuvok spoke up first. “ All I remember is a blinding blue light and then being here.” There were murmurs of agreement.

“All right, everybody come with me. We’re going to sickbay.” Then, “Torres to all senior staff members. We need you on the bridge. That includes you, Seven. Torres out.”

Down in sickbay, the Doctor was being flooded with acute cases of amnesia. It seemed that everyone that had been on deck 1 had seen a bright blue light before forgetting. “Torres to the Doctor. It’s hit decks two through ten. Now it’s got decks eleven through-“ The message ended abruptly.

When Seven reached the bridge, she found she was alone. Every thing seemed to be in order, except the crew. Suddenly, a ship de-cloaked in front of Voyager. Seven hailed them. “This is the starship Voyager-“

“We know who you are!” responded a cranky looking alien. “We know every thing about your crew and your ship. However, you are somewhat of a mystery to us. Our sensors didn’t pick you up at all!”

“Was that blue light your sensors?” Seven asked. “Of course it was, you dimwit! Now tell us everything about you!”

“Exactly how many of you are there?”

“Wouldn’t you like to know!” came the snide remark.

“Actually”, Seven said, “our sensors are picking up one life sign aboard one vessel.”

“Your..your.. sensors must be malfunctioning.” The alien stammered.

“Were you aware that your sensors were harming our crew?” There was no response. Then the transmission cut off. Another, stronger flash of light swept over her. Seven suddenly had a splitting headache. She stumbled off the bridge and started talking to herself. The pain was intense. Once in the turbo lift, she told the computer to take her to sickbay.

Down in sickbay, the Doctor was having a hell of time trying to keep patients from wandering off. When Seven showed up, he was busy trying to explain to B’Elanna why she couldn’t leave the sickbay. “Oh, Seven.” he called, “ I was too busy to report, but there seems to be a second stage in this illness. It seems that after six hours, it progresses into a comatose state. Seven?” But Seven had not stopped to listen. She had headed straight for Harry, who seemed slightly dazed.

“I love you.” she mumbled, and threw herself onto him, while she began to pull at his clothes.

When the Doctor turned, he was thoroughly appalled to see Seven and Ensign Kim on a bio- bed together. “This is worse than I thought.” He said to himself. He slapped on the mobile emitter and rushed to the bridge.

When he got to the bridge, he immediately ran a sensor sweep for the alien. All he found, however, was a small object floating directly in front of Voyager. He beamed it directly to the bridge, and found that it was a vat filled with some unknown substance marked “Voyager Cure”. Having discovered that without a cure, the victims would die, he rushed to sickbay with the vat.

Days later, Seven was in the cargo bay, working, when the door chime sounded. “Come”, she replied. An embarrassed Harry Kim stepped through the door.

“Seven, you know about the other day when…. things…. happened? Well I was thinking that-”

“Yes, Ensign, I will accompany you to the holodeck.” Seven said, cutting him off.

“That’s great, Seven!” The two walked out into the corridor, where a smirking Tom Paris watched with knowing eyes.
