Info: Markus is the first Incubus ever, and is the lover of Galatea, the Succubus from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The way he became an Incubus is rather interesting. He lived in the ancient Greek times, and had a wife, named Vivianne. Markus and Vivianne always wanted to have children, yet no matter how much they tried, Markus could never impregnate her. Then, one day, Markus found out that Vivianne was committing adultery. The sad thing was this: She became pregnant the first tryst she had. |
| Enraged and saddenned beyond humanely possible, Markus became a recluse in his own home, never coming out, and never answering to Vivianne's pleas to forgive her for what she had done. However, with Markus's prayers, Vivianne gave birth to a stillborn. Markus was to bury it, but instead, maimed the child, and made a stew from its body, and he himself drank the child's blood, passing it off as wine as Vivianne ate, not knowing she was eating her own infant. Because of his devilish act, Markus was then cursed that night as he slept. He became a demon with the ability to steal women's souls through sexual intercourse, enter dreams, and take the forms of both men and women. He woke up that next morning after several horrid nightmares to find a pair of silver wings sprouted from his back. He was able to change into his mortal form and hide them before Vivianne woke. That morning, they made love, and Markus stole his wife's soul. She had bit his shoulder before he had done so, and drank a few drops of his blood. This turned her into a Succubus, the exact same thing as Markus, only a female form of his new race. The two raped men and women, creating children of their own from people, only they reproduced without sacrificing their own blood. After Markus fell in love with a whore named Galatea and turned her, he killed Vivianne. |

| Markus and Galatea only had one child: the Incubus, Artemis. After that, Markus had forced himself to leave his lover, confident she could live on her own. It broke his heart as much as it did hers. He returned several hundred years later to join Galatea, but their reunion was short lived. The Dunpeal, Alucard, had entered his father's castle. Galatea attacked him, but failed, and was killed. Markus hid himself from the world, only feeding when he needed to. He was now a bisexual, and had a few male lovers, but they never lasted long. His powers had increased, and he was able to steal souls by just posing a display of physical affection, such as a hug. He is now able to also steal the souls of men as well as women. |
| Eric Belmont found Markus trying to prey on a young girl. Rather than killing the Incubus, Eric took pity on him; Alucard had told him of Galatea, and her lover Markus. He knew that Markus did not mean harm, and offered him shelter. Markus takes the side of both humans and the undead. He is more powerful than anyone on the demon hunter team of Transylvania. |
