My Dream
You said
the words:
“I love you”
But I wasn’t sure
If I did too!
It wasn’t until after
When we had parted ways
That I found myself
Thinking of you everyday
Out or
at home
And even in class
I thought it was a phase
That would surely pass
That same day I dreamt
I was walking down an aisle
Flowers all around me
And on my face a smile
It
seemed to be the
Happiest day of my life
Your face suddenly appeared
Oh my God, I’m your wife!
I woke up in shock
Thinking no part of it was true
Tried to block you from my mind
By denying my feelings for you
I made
myself forget you
And not think of you at all
That is until you came back
One day during fall
You stopped by my house
And I answered the door
One look at you and
My heart sank to the floor
I then began to cry and you
Asked me what was wrong
I had to tell you about the feelings
I’ve hidden for so long
I told
you about everything
Except of course the dream
You became so happy
At least that’s how it seemed
We became a couple & we
Have been going out for years
We shared each other’s happiness
As well as each other’s fears
One day I saw a tear
Rolling down your cheek
I asked you what was wrong
But you could barely speak
You got down on your knees & said:
“I want to be with you for life,
you’d make me the happiest man
if you would be my wife”
I kissed you & held you tight
Then whispered the words: “I do”
We lived happily ever after–
& my dream had just come true!
