My luck had run out
& taken a turn for the worse
All my happiness vanished
My life was a curse
Heartbroken and all alone
No one seemed to care
No one to help me through it
Life was so unfair
I was crying by myself
When you walked up to me one day
you wiped away my tears
& said: "Everything will be okay."
I thought that that was it
that I'd never see you again
Little did I know that
we'd soon be best of friends
For you gave me your hand
& helped me deal with the strife
You gave me the world
You gave me back my life
Though our lives have changed
Going from one place to another
We still kept in touch
and checked in on each other
Just the sound of your voice
brought joy to my heart
it hurt me to know
that we were apart
Suddenly it hit me
I was no longer numb
I liked you more than just a friend
How could I've been so dumb?
It took me all these years
for me to finally realize
that the guy right next to me
could be the love of my life
So I'm writing this to you
to tell you how I feel
Don't think that it's a joke
Please know that I'm for real
But if you don't want that
I hope that you'll still stay
to dry my tears just one last time
