| Love Life: In the very beginning, Rei falls head over heels for Mamoru. On first sight she thought he was the most attractive and alluring man in the world. While her friend Usagi was trading insults with him, Rei constantly tried to take him out on dates. He consented to one, but didn't think of it as any more than taking a friend out for some fun. Rei eventually realizes that Usagi and Mamoru are meant for each other and backs off of him for her princess's sake. At the same time, a musician named Yuuichirou is taken in by Rei's grandfather and lives at the Hikawa Shrine during Season 1. He is immediately taken with Rei and tries just about anything and everything to get her to go on a date with him. She brushes him off with a bit of a prissy attitude, but does seem to be at least a little affectionate towards him during Season 2. This romance never evolves into anything more than mild flirtation and is soon forgotten. (The following only occurs in the manga) In the past, during the Silver Millenium, Rei fell in love with General Jadeite - second in command to Prince Endymion. Their soulmate-level love is shattered when Jadeite is brainwashed by Beryl and sent to kill Sailor Mars. He is reborn in the present like the rest of the Silver Millenium, but before he can search for his prince, he and his fellow generals fall to darkness and Beryl's power again. |
