We pass the lights on the hillside
A vale of fireflys in the twilight
I wish I could take them with me
Just the way they are
Arranged in the order they appeared
Unchanged undisturbed
It's all I ever wanted
I just want things to be the way they were
I want to exist where time does not
I want to chew the Gods by day
And swallow by night
I need to hear war sirens
Sounding through the vacant city streets
And explosions flickering on a magenta horizon
I hear the sound of children singing and playing
On an elementary school playground
Sometimes it's the words you should listen for
Rather than the melody
