Back to My Writings
There are lacerations on my hands and face
And sprinkles of glass twinkling like stars
Giving my blood to the interior of the car
I am wounded and fatigued
And finding it hard to drive
She is wearing her red lipstick tonight
And a black V-neck dress
With small ruffles around the colar and sleeves
Her vanilla fragrance kisses the air all around
In strange chemicals that always make me smile
I know she is crying and trying to scream
Bound and gagged in the trunk of my car
But I wonder if she is thinking of me
I thought about killing God the other day
I wanted to burn down the heavens and the moon
I wanted to hold you in my arms again and never let go
There is a canopy of stars in these hills
Away from the city lights
They are there like you and me now
Strange and in love
