On April 18th of 1974 my parents moved to Terrace, B.C.. I was born in Terrace on my parents first anniversary (June 24, 1974).
I started windsurfing at 6 years old when my dad started a Windsurfing and Hobie sailing school. I have one brother, Bj, who was very competitive and we progressed quickly.
At 11 years old we moved to San Francisco so Dad could manage a windsurfing school in the San Francisco bay. I graduated 1992 and did 2 years of college. During school I worked as a lifeguard.
After college, I worked at the local sawmill for a year before I started my own windsurfing school. This led me to take a job as a G.O. in Club Med Cancun. I stayed there over a year (seemed like 5 years).
After Club Med I moved to Whistler to teach at Whistler Kids Windsurfing at the park across the lake from where I lived. |
