Epilogue

The night stretched beyond the thick pane of glass broken by a million points of light that dotted the strip. Lights that filled the visual realm with an awed wonderment ... oddities that one could only find in the mecca of desert frivolity, a place where every building was a palace and every man imagined himself a king.

Behind Taylor the phone rang loudly in the quiet of the room. She left it, her attention riveted on the lights and energy of the city below. Behind her the phone was finally lifted from its cradle, a deep, loved male voice filling the room.

"Yeah?" Vince hugged the phone between his slicked shoulder and ear as he wrapped a thick fluffed towel around his mid section. "Hey, Mia...." he greeted, his voice low and filled with a tempered affinity.

A wide, affectionate smile lined Taylor's lips. She had to wonder just how long Dom had been trying to keep her away from the phone, how long he had tried to avert this call. Had it been days? A week?

"Yeah. Yeah, she's right here. Hold on." Vince grabbed up the phone from the night stand and stalked across the room toward her. Watching his progression over her shoulder, she drew a heated breath. The sight of dewy droplets sliding down his chest, gracing his abdomen to collect into the
downy soft towel slung low on his hips had her nea breathless, had her eyes heavy with peaking lust.

Handing her the phone, he gave her a heated smile filled with untapped passion. He lifted his free hand to run absently across his hard stomach, teasing in its slow progression. Taking the receiver, she covered it quickly with her hand. "You're bad, V. Very bad." She smiled and pulled her hand away, lifting the phone to her ear.

"Yeah, I am." He smirked, moving up behind her, molding his body perfectly to hers.

She bit roughly at her bottom lip before she opened her mouth. Her voice came out as someone else, controlled and even, nothing like she was feeling. "Hello." At the other end there was excited chatter, Mia asking a thousand questions in the space of a second.

Behind her Vince lifted the thin back strap that hugged her shoulder, kissing, licking along her scented skin. His arms snaked around her waist to inch the short black dress up her thighs. "Say goodbye, baby," Vince whispered, his hands moving everywhere at once, touching, caressing, kneading her body.

With her eyes dropping closed, her breathing more and more ragged, she tried to track the conversation with Mia and found it near impossible.

"Tell her you'll call her tomorrow," he growled, his body making its hardened state known behind her, demanding with the throbbing pulse against her body, rubbing between the twin globes of her ass.

"Yeah...Yeah, we did it this morning," Taylor told Mia, her hand coming up and finding its way behind her to caress Vince's bearded jaw. The ring that graced her left hand caught the light and shimmered with a newness that fascinated. "Yes, all legal now and NO there was no singing Elvis." She giggled, at Mia's absurd question.

Vince turned his head and captured her fingers, sucking it into his mouth, running his tongue along the edge of the the simple gold band. "Come on, Tay," he urged not willing to wait longer for her to finish the conversation.

Taylor's eyes rolled heavenward at the warm wet feeling that encompassed her finger. On the other end of the line Mia had handed off the phone to Dom. He barely managed to get a hello out before Taylor cut him off. "He'll call you later, Dom."

*************

Standing in the kitchen, leaning against the sink, Dom pulled the phone away from his ear. There was a knowing smile on his lips as he shook his head. "Married and still can't get them apart for more than a few minutes." He cut his eyes to Letty and gave her a teasing wink.

*************

Taylor dropped the receiver back in its cradle and turned in Vince's arms. Kicking out of her heels she lifted her bare leg to rest against his hip, arms wound around his neck. "I love you, Vince," she whispered, rubbing slowly against him, her thigh lifting slightly and pushing the towel from his hips. Over his shoulder she had a perfect view of his lean, muscular
flanks as he ground himself against her.

"Dom said Hi," she whispered, threading her fingers in his wet hair, pulling his lips down to hers. There was a soft gasp and she found herself draped across the bed, their bodies quickly coming together.

Poised above her Vince lifted his head and stared into her loving eyes, marveling that they had made it here, made it to total happiness, that they were together and nothing could come between them. One thought echoed over and over inside his head and it made him tremble with need for her and he supposed it always would.

Forever...
